Evie lala
are adding to their ever-expanding range and now stock nappy bags!
Designed and made in Australia by the very talented Claire Coghill,
they each feature a handle long enough for slinging over pram handles -
something that is a godsend on those busy days when carrying
your bag by hand whilst pushing a pram just isn't an option.
The front pocket is made of 'Aunty Cookie' designer fabric in your
choice of red or black,
and set beautifully against a 100% cotton drill solid backdrop of dusk
blue or black. There are three to choose from, all lined
with fabric
in a contrasting colour.
They're the perfect size for carrying all the essentials for being out
and about with a baby or toddler
- or both! Each slouch-style bag is individually handcrafted
exclusively for fab local site evie lala who also carry a range of
slings and fabric-covered journals, amongst many other delectable items.
I think it's fantastic that there are so many options for nappy
bags available
these days. When I had my first son only 3.5 years ago, there simply
wasn't the choice, and what was around screamed 'nappy bag'.
Now there's a size, shape and
configuration to suit parents with diverse requirements without being
overtly baby-related!
From evie lala for $130 each plus post.
Stocks of their super-popular
reversible shoes have just been replenished, so dash over for a look.
Let's face it, most of us just love a little product magic in our lives! I'll never forget the adverts for those 'Sea Monkeys'
- I was convinced that just by adding water, I could create those cute little creatures
animated on the back covers of comics.
Pure Wipes don't claim to hatch little creatures when you add water, and nor
would you want them to! They do provide that neat 'wow factor' though, as they transform from a tiny 1 x 2cm tablet to a handy
full-sized wipe with just a tablespoon of liquid.
When space is at a premium in your bag, whether travelling abroad or
down the road, Pure Wipes will ensure you have a wipe handy
whenever you need it. I plan to keep some in my bag and glovebox simply
because I forget my baby wipes at least twice a week. They're a
great emergency stop-gap for those times when nothing but a moist wipe
will do.
Pure Wipes are unexpectedly versatile. You can add a liquid of your
choice to suit the purpose, so adding antiseptic can clean a
wound when camping, adding toner makes for a clean face, and of course
water for your baby's bottom or hands! If the need arises,
they can even be used as a cleaning cloth.
They're non-toxic and made from natural fibre pulp and then compressed, they can be reused and
even put in the compost, where they will degrade after just 35 days.
These little gems are available from Mini Eco.
Packaged in a handy 10-pack tube for $4.95 and with 12 and 80 piece refill packs available at $4.95 and $17.95
respectively, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them!
I've been admiring the
Mutsy Spider
for some time now, and until recently you could only order them from
Europe. They have finally arrived in Australia and it's an option that
will see you manoeuvring effortlessly through urban jaunts and overseas
travel with its compact fold and travel bag!
The Spider has inherited all the superb build quality of its larger
Mutsy siblings, the 'Rider' series, and even eclipses it's fellow
Dutch rival by having a storage basket and reclinable seat - a highly
desirable feature if your child naps in the pram.
Keeping them fast asleep, the double front swivel wheel provides a
supremely smooth and quiet ride for your child.
An adjustable handlebar allows parents of any height to push the stroller comfortably which is operated via a sliding mechanism
with simple levers.
The seat design is unique in that it features a headrest, like those found in cars.
This makes the seat height adjustable for those with taller children. It reminds me of a race car seat perched atop a tripod!
bébé
supplies the travel bag, which enables you to carry it on your back, as well as a storm cover for those
unexpected showers we all get caught in sometimes. These accessories are usually optional extras.
The Spider weighs 9kg and is suitable for babies from 6-12 months (depending on head control)
right up to 15kg.
Get this groovy ride for $399.95 from fab local site
bébé,
who will ship the Spider free of charge.
We had a chat to Lucie Trinco, designer of the super cool Il Tutto bags. See the video below for information of what was launched at the show and will be going into stores soon. We love the new zip out laptop bag insert.
A nappy bag that transforms into a change station? It sounded too good
to be true until I tried one! The versatile Baby Traveller from
gr8x
will fill many roles in
any situation you care to throw at it.
The Baby Traveller has a bungee cord from which to hang blankets and
wraps, removable pram straps, mobile phone pouch, bottle holder
(insulated), backpack straps, and a soft separate changemat, all in an
attractive machine-washable (Deluxe models only) package. Available in
an astounding 16 different colours over two styles, you won't have a
problem finding one to suit your style.
I find using stretchy wraps a breeze with a large, strong Houdini of a baby, and these
Stretch Swaddling Wraps
are big enough for even the largest of babies.
They measure up to 145cm x 85cm and the stretch means your baby is
super comfy with a bit of moving room, but without disassembling
your swaddling! Available in single and double packs.
I found a breastfeeding pillow absolutely essential in the newborn
days. Tiny ones are so fragile, they need the support, and so do your
neck, back and arms. Feeding pillows tend to be bulky, however gr8x
have addressed this with its
Self Inflating Feeding Pillow.
Coming to
you in a handy matching bag with drawstring, the inflatable pillow is
available in black, pink/natural and green/natural. It's just so
compact and
automatically inflates, so baby won't have to wait to be fed and you
won't hyperventilate trying to blow it up!
Gr8x products are available from good baby shops and online retailers Australia-wide.
