Guy Sebastian says he’ll “dump the kids” with the grandparents these holidays

Guy and Jules Sebastian

Guy Sebastian and family are Adelaide-bound this Christmas, and the singer is very much looking forward to being able to “dump the kids” and head off on adventures with wife Jules.

Holiday plans

Guy and Jules are parents to two little boys, five-year-old Hudson and three-year-old Archie, and he’s just popped on telly to chat about their work with the Sebastian Foundation, which helps keep families connected and supports women fleeing family violence.

The conversation then turned to how the pair will be spending the final month of the year, and Guy said he’s looking forward to some down time after a very busy year.

“You know what? I just want time. We live pretty busy lives … I just want to have some time to just do nothing.”

“We’re going to Adelaide, we’re just going to chill. The thing that I love about Adelaide is that it puts you in a moment of just relaxing. It’s simplicity. It’s so beautiful,’ he added.

“Dump the kids”

Guy said he’s looking forward to ditching the kids and spending some much-needed child-free time with his wife. His thoughts possibly echo those of legions of exhausted parents across the country and we wish him all the date nights and fancy drinks!

“We’ve got no grandparents here in Sydney,” Guy explained, “So at least in Adelaide both our our parents are there, Jules and I, so we can dump the kids on them and go and do things.”

We’re certain both the kids AND the grandparents are looking forward to this, as much as Guy and Jules. These kind of holiday hangouts with family are the stuff memories are made of.

“They’re favourite is Elf on the Shelf”

Guy says his kids are really looking forward to Christmas this year – and are now old enough to get super-excited about Santa’s impending arrival. They’re also huge fans of a particularly popular little guy.

“They love [Christmas]. They’re favourite is Elf on the Shelf. I wish I came up with that idea,” Guy laughed.

“As most parents discover, you start to feel young again when you have kids. You see that innocence and joy for the first time. You just relive your childhood through them.”

So true, having little kids really DOES make Christmas extra special. Also having grandparents makes date night extra special.
