When you’re third in line to the throne no shopping mall Santa is going to cut it when it comes to your Christmas wish list. Luckily Prince George’s dad William was already in Helsinki (aka the North Pole and home of Santa Claus) so was able to safely deliver the precious handwritten letter straight to the big man himself!
Friends with Father Christmas
Not many children around the world get a direct link to the real Father Christmas, but when your dad is a globetrotting royal, well that makes things a bit easier! Prince William is currently in Helsinki, Finland on a royal visit to coincide with the country’s 100th anniversary of independence. Conveniently, it was also the perfect opportunity for little Prince George to make sure his dad delivered his carefully handwritten Christmas wish list to the man in the red suit himself – no post required!
“I had to give you this letter,” William told Santa, according to Metro. The Duke of Cambridge was visiting a traditional festive market at Esplanade Park in Helsinki where he met with local residents, but we’re sure it was Santa who he was really there for.
The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new official portrait of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness's fourth birthday tomorrow 🎈The photograph was taken at Kensington Palace at the end of June by Chris Jackson. The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this lovely picture as they celebrate Prince George's fourth birthday, and would like to thank everyone for all of the kind messages they have received.
Naughty or nice?
We all know that Father Christmas only gives presents to children who behave themselves, and just because you’re a royal (who’s also incredibly cute) it doesn’t mean you’re automatically on the “nice” list. Prince George thought it was best he pointed out to Santa that he should be on the “nice” list. Perhaps he was a little worried about those times he complained before going to school or when his mum, Kate the Duchess of Cambridge, had to give him a stern talking to at a few royal engagements. Thankfully, he got the chance to circle “nice” on his wish list and clear any misunderstandings up with Santa.
All he wants for Christmas is…?
Despite having options for listing five presents, the four-year-old prince obviously decided not to be greedy and only opted for one item at number three spot on his Santa letter. But what does the Prince want? A police car – presumably a toy one – how cute! And suitably law abiding, too.
“He hasn’t written down many requests, so I think one request is probably OK,” William said.
The adorable letter is also the first time we’ve seen Prince George’s handwriting, including his signature which he included at the bottom of his note. No clue as to whether Charlotte also got her dad to put in a good word for her or what’s the Princess has on her wish list.
Now his letter is signed, sealed and delivered straight to Father Christmas, all George needs to do is stay on the nice list for the next few weeks and that police car will be in his stocking Christmas morning. Fingers crossed you get your wish George! At least there’s one present we know both Charlotte and George will be getting next year for sure, and that’s a new sibling!
What have your little ones asked Santa for this year?
