Fromage La Rue is the only company in Australia making letters of this size – that’s fifty-eight centimetres high. They’re made from interior grade ply, with low wattage bulbs and are fitted with a dimmer (I told you they were perfect as a night light!) Each letter is hand-made and takes about a week to produce, with the beautiful aged and distressed look making each piece unique. They can be free-standing or wall mounted, so you can keep them away from little hands. Each letter is $350.

But that’s not where the talents of these artists ends. The vintage look extends into Fromage La Rue’s exquisite wooden letters. And once again, these are hardly child-sized, standing at forty-five centimetres tall. The letters are finished in high gloss black, but keep an eye out for white distressed letters coming soon. The wooden vintage letters are $100 each.
