Actually, it’s a whole range of toddler and baby pillows made from certified organic cottons and printed without harsh chemicals using soy-based ink. US company Mermapillar specialises in a range of eco-friendly, animal-themed baby and toddler gear, but we just love their “adorably nervous” pillows. I think the tummy time pillow is beautifully understated, but if you want something a bit more adventurous, there’s a panda, elephant, owl or armadillo. They are each about 40cm long, so they’re a great size for little arms to cuddle.

All the pillows usually retail for US$38, but at the time of writing, you can pick up the armadillo and the elephant for just US$18, and teach your kids that A is not just for apple.
