There’s no doubt some would shy away from the challenge of creating a child’s room from a rather unconventional space, but Sage’s parents embraced it and here they share with us how they transformed a dormitory bedroom into an exquisite nursery!

Little Sage has a nursery that begs you to come in for a play with its glorious yellow walls and large louvre windows, giving a spacious and happy vibe. We love that Sage’s mum Cassie has re-purposed things that she loves, mixing the old with the new to develop a beautifully fun and inviting room.

Here’s a list of what Cassie used to create Sage’s fabulous space:

Wood tree – Cassie’s own design made from a sheet of plywood from Bunnings.

White rocking feeding chair – Ikea

Cot – a pre-loved treasure from eBay

Red framed print – Lovers In Japan (and butterflies from a Coldplay concert)

Striped raincoat – from Cassie’s own store Joshua and Caleb

Mouse slippers – Oxfam

Name puzzle – Little Wooden Wonders

Other items were found and partly restored.

Cassie says on Sage’s room:

We have temporarily moved into an old youth camp and our bedrooms are in one of the dormitories. We believe in reuse and recycle, we fix things we find and make our own clothes. This is our fourth-born boy’s room. I love modern, simple, clean ‘oldie worldie’ and circus feel. This bedroom wasn’t really a planned one but rather has evolved over the past ten months.

Planned or not, we love your eclectic nursery style Cassie and it looks like handsome little man Sage is quite pleased with it too!
