If you’re artistically-challenged, but would love some unique, original artwork for your child’s space, then enter this whimsical world and explore these beautiful (mum-created) artworks.
I dabble in artwork – ok, finger painting with the kids is as far as it gets these days – so I greatly admire any mother who can put her talents to very good use. It’s precisely the case with Rachelle Anne Miller, who uses her boys as her artistic inspiration, and her husband as the support to allow her to make a business out of her passion. Rachelle is originally from Canada, moved to Adelaide for a while, but has now relocated back to Canada. She worked as a graphic designer before launching Rachelle Anne Miller Design & Illustration, and her attention to detail and eye for amazing design shines through. As well as her original artworks, Rachelle is also working on children’s book illustration.
Her collection includes illustrations (CAD$20), greeting cards (CAD$6.50) and sketches.
My favourite piece in the collection is the Map of the World. It’s themed around animals, and has so much detail it would be make a great story starter for children. It’s priced at CAD$40 and is a great size of more than 30cmx40cm.
Rachelle also takes orders for personalised pieces. Take a browse through Rachelle Anne Miller Design & Illustration, and you can place an order directly through the store. Shipping to Australia is available.
