Ferm Living – design at its best

Ah, Scandinavian design. I spent a better part of a year in Denmark when I was a teenager and I think that is when my love of its overwhelming simplicity and practicality was planted.

I was full of this appreciation and adoration when I hit the Ferm Living website and promptly spent a good hour finding my favourite designs. I suppose it’s time to fess up to my interior design passion, one that has been with me since I was a child. Anytime someone would ask “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, I would confidently reply “An interior designer.” I was (thankfully!) given full rein over our house to experiment with furniture layouts in the way I pleased. A lot of my childhood and teenage days were spent rearranging pieces into just the ‘right’ position and exploring with colours, shapes and design.

So if there are any other interior style nuts out there, I’m sure you’ll love Ferm Living and their plethora of objects for our homes. From stunning wallpapers to timeless throw pillows to chic wall stickers.

Their childrens’ range is along the same vein but even better in my opinion. The ‘Animal Tower Sticker’ pictured above is superb and so clever. A child can now measure themselves against a rooster on top of a giraffe on top of a horse. The refreshing WallSmart wallpapers are a new generation of non-woven paper to make application a breeze that would uplift any child’s room. I’m very tempted to snap up ‘Dotty’ yellow trees for my own daughter’s space.

To purchase, go to Ferm Living Australia which stocks the majority of the kids’ range, with the ‘Story Mobile’ coming soon. If you’ve got to have the dollhouse or bedding, head to Nest Living and organise a reshipper for postage to Australia.
