The world of reasonably-priced bouncers often leaves a lot to be desired but it seems affordability and style have collaborated nicely in this retro-styled beauty. It’s the brand new Combi Pod Bouncer and with looks like these, it’s one I’d be proud to show in my living room. Let’s face it, there are some monstrosities out there with headache-inducing colour schemes and clumpy execution, so it’s little wonder I got rid of ours the first second I could.

My first choice is the chestnut brown with circle pattern but there is also a sunny butternut version and leafy jade option. Each has its own set of hang toys – from the chestnut brown’s planet, star and moon to butternut and jade’s bugs and butterflies. I can see these fitting right in with sibling Yolk chairs from Little Nest or vintage Cosco chairs from Molly Meg, with an Eames Hang It All in walnut in the hall.

The hang toys are a usual feature of bouncers, but the Combi Pod Bouncer packs a technological punch which few can boast. You can plug in your MP3 player so that baby can listen to some tunes while bouncing away. This connection is placed at the rear of the bouncer so that the music is filtered through the back of the seat.

Add to that the standard inclusions such as a lockable bounce feature, slip-resistant feet, three-point padded harness, two-position recline and a storage pouch and you have yourself one mighty fine accessory for your wee twenty-first century babe. I bet our grandparents never dreamed of products like this!

We hope the Combi Pod Bouncer will reach our shores. No word yet on whether it will get to Australia, but you can rely on us to let you know when it happens! In the US this bouncer retails for just US$79.

  1. Everytime I see these things I think Jetsons. We started with the Fisher Price Rainforest Bouncer which feels too small for our little one despite his being well under their max weight. Additionally he constantly bangs his heels on the plastic battery case.

We’ve opted for the Bjorn Bouncer which I pray works as well as it looks.

  2. Thanks for this post – it inspired us to ask my parents to pick one up while they were holidaying in the US. They returned today and delivered the bouncer. We love it, as does our daughter. Winner.
