I’ve been on the hunt for a rug for my daughter’s room for quite some time and while I’ve seen some gorgeous rugs, most have been a little ho-hum and run of the mill. Not so this Ladybird, in all its red felt glory!
The felt ball rug has long been popular and I love that Happy As Larry Designs have taken it a step further by creating this gorgeous Ladybird rug using beautiful red and black coloured pure wool felt balls. The Ladybird rug has an approximate eighty centimetre diameter so will most definitely pack a decorating punch to your child’s bedroom or playroom floor – fancy stepping out onto a ladybird every morning!
For those that aren’t ready to stray from the traditional felt ball rug, you will be amazed by the colour options Happy As Larry Designs offer – from pink and white to all colours included. I’m especially appreciative that there are some slightly more boyish options with the blue, red, white and grey of the Firecracker rug or the equally stunning Blueberry rug’s blue and green hues.
Rugs start from $339 and can be posted all over Australia for an extra $20.

They look beautiful
I adore these – they are really unique, but after seeing one in person my over-riding question was “how on earth do you keep them clean???” Would vacuuming fluff them up; is a good shake outside enough; or would I be stuck picking individual pieces of lint out from between the balls?
Hi Everyone, Larry here!
Believe it or not they are super easy to clean. Each ball is 100% wool and densely felted by hand. There is next to no pilling like with a normal wool rug and the balls do not fluff up. Wool is a natural repellant so any liquid spilt will instantly bead up and you can tap it off or soak it up with a cloth.
Baby spew can be easily mopped up with spot cleaning. I have had mine in our playroom for over 2 years with heaps of traffic and spillages. We use it as a display rug when at expos and it still looks like new.
(if really dirty as with any carpet we recommend professional carpet cleaning).
Hope that helps!
