We’re excited to hear that Turia Pitt and fiancé Michael Hoskin’s beautiful little baby has arrived safe and sound, hot on the heels of Lindy Klim’s baby announcement this morning! Babies all ’round!

Welcome to the world Hakavai Hoskin Turia Pitt and baby Hakavai

Hello, Hakavai!

Last we heard from Turia was two days ago, when she posted a bump shot captioned, “We’re frothing to meet you Baby Hoskin!”

A couple of hours ago, she popped back up, this time with bump considerably reduced and tiny – and ridiculously cute – baby in her arms! Ta dah!

“Welcome to the world Hakavai Hoskin,” Turia posted alongside two utterly adorable photos of her brand new baby boy.

The couple also announced the happy news in an email introducing their new bub to the world alongside the same two photos (pictured above).

“Michael and I want to introduce you to someone … Meet Hakavai Hoskin,” wrote the new parents.

No word yet on what the beautifully unique name means personally to the loved up pair, but it is a word from the Shona language commonly spoken in Zimbabwe meaning “will be”. How beautiful is that!

While the couple intend to take some time out to get to know this little guy properly, they couldn’t resist sharing their happy news.

“We’ll be in this little newborn bubble for a few weeks but we wanted to pop our heads out for a moment to share the news directly with you,” they wrote. “We are totally in love, and just so stoked!” We don’t blame you, he is one precious little guy.

Miracle bub

It was back in June that Turia and Michael Hoskin told 60 Minutes that they were expecting their first child together. Since then she’s been sharing heaps of excellent photos and cheeky captions, letting us tag along on the whole Pregnancy According To Turia adventure.

It must have seemed like a dream come true when Turia snuggled this little guy for the first time. Especially after spending the last six years working relentlessly to recover from injuries sustained to 65 percent of her body, when a grassfire tore through the route of an ultramarthon she was running in Western Australia’s remote Kimberley region.

“Resilience, not happiness”

Not only has Turia forged on post-accident, she’s thrived, writing a couple of wildly successful books and reclaiming her fitness. She’s not only a mum-of-one and nearly married lady now, she’s a sought-after speaker and advocate promoting self-acceptance and resilience.

As she prepared for the arrival of young Hakavai, Turia confirmed that she and Michael had some very clear ideas on how they’d raise their bub.

“My parenting focus will be on resilience, not happiness,” she explained on Instagram, which makes a lot of sense and seems to get to the heart of what she’s learnt as she’s recovered, and created this brand new life.

We can’t wait to see more of this beautiful bub – and find out more about his unusual name.

Congratulations to Michael and Turia! Welcome to the world tiny Hakavai!
