Playtime Tokyo February 21-23 February 2012

The 2012 Playtime Tokyo trade show revealed a treasure trove of talent and today we show you a handful of exhibitors that are new to Babyology!

If it’s cute you want, then it’s cute you get with Waddler (pictured above and below). Beautiful and fun clothing for girls and boys are handmade in Bolivia using the very best of lightweight alpaca wool. Cute additions of ears on hoods, llama prints on waist coats, and overalls with mouse mitten pockets will have you cooing in delight.

Not escaping my roving eye was this funky coloured apple print from Ami Amie. Stars, apples and stripes set the scene as this Japanese brand goes about creating stunningly vivid coloured knit pants, skirts, pants and dresses for children using organic cotton and wool.

Reminiscent of an old wild west movie and with a distinct Mexican flavour, De Nachos delivers a glorious line-up of casual attire. Soft washed, vintage look tees and jumpers emblazoned with cactus and horseshoe motifs to name a few, paired with stretch multi coloured cargo pants and warm ponchos all make for a fun casual look.

Hailing from the Netherlands, craft enthusiasts will adore Mikodesign. I Love Paris doll and Paris Rabbit kits (pictured above) come complete with silk screened cotton fabric to make the body, Parisian chic silhouette design skirt and accessories.  Full instructions are included making this an achievable project even for novice sewers.

UK brand Beau Loves turns the humble bib into a unexpected outfit accessory, then dishes up sublime unisex clothing. Bibs in funky oil cloth or with cotton fleece backing combine fun with function. Speaking of fun, Beau Loves jumpsuits and tees embellished with Zorro style masks are destined to be a hit with kids everywhere!

That’s all from Playtime Tokyo for now. To see more trade show action, visit our recent posts on Playtime Paris maternity fashion, children’s fashion and decor.
