As part of the Mercedes ‘Race Around The Web‘ competition, we just spent the weekend with a brand-new Mercedes-Benz B200 CDI. The B-Class is the perfect inner-city car – small, fun and full of terrific features for families.
The B200 CDI has a 1.8l diesel engine which produces 100kW and 300Nm of torque while consuming just 4.7l/100km. The responsive engine and low-profile tyres gives the car a sporty feel around town, while still being as solid and comfortable as you would expect from Mercedes.
All variants of the B-Class have been awarded the highest Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) safety rating of five stars. The B-Class comes with a host of safety features including Collision Prevention Assist as standard. The system is designed to help drivers avoid or mitigate accidents by doing two things – warning the driver of an impending collision and applying the brakes (systems like this will be compulsory in Europe from 2014). Fortunately, we didn’t have to try it out.
Another great safety feature for families is the seat belt status indicator, which clearly shows who’s buckled up.

The rear seat is particularly well-appointed for kids, with integrated cup holders and tray tables. Our girls thought they were going on holiday every time we got in the car. The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is priced from $43,950.
If you want to be driving one of these Mercedes-Benz-B-Class you can enter our ’Race Around The Web‘ competition which closes 9th September, 2012.

Simply amazing and defining
We really enjoyed driving one of these around on our recent trip in Italy.
Thanks for sharing this article. My wife is due next month and we are in the process of searching for a safe car – we need a city car to zip around in through the week but also want something spacious so we can fit the pram in etc..
Might have to look at getting this Mercedes-Benz – wow!
Amazing, I didn’t know you could get one for around $43k. This is great.
Going to play the race game now so I can win.
Hopefully I can take one home. haha
We took one of these for a test drive on the weekend. The car was great and we are now thinking of buying one.
