Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z have finally announced the arrival of their twins – a baby boy and girl – and the big reveal is every bit in true Queen Bey style.
Did she or didn’t she?
The rumour mill has been in overdrive for the past month, with the famous pair choosing to remain tight-lipped on the birth of their twins, leaving the rest of the world and the singer’s dedicated Beyhive hanging for news.
Dad spilled the beans
The first official hint that the couple had welcomed Blue Ivy’s little twin siblings into the world (quite rudely) came from Bey’s own father, Matthew Knowles who shared the announcement on his Twitter and Instagram accounts back on June 19.

Then came the trademarked baby names
While there was still no official word from camp Carter after Dad Knowles spilled the beans, the couple did quietly take steps to secure the trademarks on their baby twins’ names in early July. Having done the very same thing for firstborn daughter Blue Ivy.
“Beyoncé and Jay-Z appear to have named their new twins. The couple have reportedly registered in the US to trademark ‘Rumi Carter’ and ‘Sir Carter’,” The Guardian reported at the time.
And now … we FINALLY have a photo!
The proud mum is looking every bit the queen she is, captioning the photo, “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today”.
Same same but different
The mum-of-three is sporting the same veil and floral background that she used to announce her pregnancy to the world back in February this year but instead of wearing underwear to show off her then blossoming twin baby bump, the singer is wrapped in an equally fabulous floral gown, holding her two tiny – and entirely adorable – one-month-old bubs.
It is clear to see the image, which was posted on Bey’s Instagram account on Friday, is the “after” to her “before” pregnancy announcement.
Although we were very (im)patiently waiting for this first precious photo to land in our Instagram feed, we think it is so great that Bey and Jay-Z chose to make this announcement on their own terms in their own time. We hope the first month as a family of five have been full of all the newborn wonderful feels.
Congratulations to Beyonce, Jay-Z and big sister Blue Ivy, and a very belated welcome to the world Rumi and Sir Carter!
