It’s that time of year again when the writers at Babyology reflect on those moments that have made the pulse race, those which have implanted in the memory and are thought of often. I’m not kidding when I say I had to sift through fifty-seven web pages of my writing from the past year. I could easily do a top twenty but have managed to narrow it down to just five; my favourites from 2011 – 2012.
Number one was easy; it just had to be the announcement of the Australian arrival of the Kalon Studios Caravan Crib. There might be a teensy bit of ego involved as Babyology had a hand in its local birthing by connecting the right people. The rest of the credit belongs to Kido Store, who took the plunge in bringing this stunning range to you. It was hush-hush for so long I thought I might burst, but what an exhilarating ride.
Another favourite happened very recently – the announcement of the new Bugaboo Cameleon3. There’s nothing I like better than an opportunity like this landing in my lap and the thrill of the race to get it live so our readers know about it first. We may have been amongst the first on the planet to announce it – got to love time differences that actually work in our favour for once!
Our own Managing Editor Mandi Gunsberger instantly selected this model for her third child, due the month it is released. That’s a pretty big thumbs up for this revamped classic!
Our charity work is so important to us. Every quarter we run a charity event which we are all very proud of. Ask my friends; I rave about the things Babyology does to help people. Sometimes we choose to support a national charity and sometimes it’s an individual like little Harris in January.
This time we’re supporting MS Research Australia as a way of contributing to all those families affected by multiple sclerosis. With many parents out there suffering, we have to remember that children are directly affected.
The revelation that ISOFIX is to be legalised in 2013 rocked my world; I have been awaiting just a hint of this news for eight years. Many are skeptical that it will happen next year but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I suffer from eternal optimism which, on occasion, comes through for me.
Sometimes I have fanciful, indulgent whims and Mandi sees I’m obsessed and allows me to run with them. That’s what happened with my apple and fox trend posts. They were three parts per trend and all ridiculously long but geez I had a ball putting them together. Want to check them out? Here’s Fox One, Fox Two, Fox Three and Apple One, Apple Two and Apple Three.
We will totally overlook, as will our content editor Nikki, that this comprises six posts. Yes, we will; please indulge me.
