I recently organised my daughter’s second birthday party. I do tend to get carried away with these things, and this year I decided to do cupcake decorating as an activity at the party (I know, for two year olds – call me crazy!).

I decided to contact my favourite cupcake bakery, Sparkle Cupcakery, which is a
glam store across from Shea Park in Surry Hills, Sydney. Their array of flavours is amazing not only for kids, but for adults too. With twelve daily flavours of freshly baked sugar bombs, you can choose from Pure Sparkle (vanilla bean), Milk Chocolate, exotic Oriental Flower
(lychee and rose), Pistachio and Cardamon, to name a few.

Kathryn over at Sparkle Cupcakery is fantastic. Taking my cupcake decorating idea, together we have launched the newest of the Sparkle products – the ‘Sparkle Cupcake Construction Kit’. With this party-in-a box concept (every parent’s dream), you pick up your package on the party day with everything you need already in the package.

The birthday boy or girl can select their favourite colours and flavours of Sparkle cupcakes, and there’s loads of decorations to choose from as well (think shapes, numbers, letters, flowers, hearts, stars etc.). This can be focused around your party’s theme, for example.

Each kit costs $10, which includes one cupcake, a gorgeous black and silver take home box (see below), various icings and decorations, spatulas for the icing, bowls for decorations and a tablecloth.

I can’t recommend this concept enough – it was a huge success. All the kids had a terrific time and went home full of sugar and cake (isn’t that what parties are all about?).
