I adore this cake! Am using this as inspiration for my daughter's 1st birthday which is also a bunny them (she's an Aussie living in Hong Kong who was born in the year of the rabbit!) - any way, did you do the ganache layer and then a royal icing layer on top? I'm assuming you did as the white royal icing is so perfect. If so, how long did you leave the ganache to set on the cake before doing the top layer? Thanks so much!

Hi Esther, So chuffed that you liked it! We just had a bash at making our own Miffy. I baked two circular cakes and cut both ears out of the second circle. When you're ganaching you can get the shape right (and correct anything etc...) My top tip is wait til the ganache sets a tiny bit before you spread it. We got the recipe and all the how to's from the book. It tasted phenomenal!

I LOVE that cake and hope to make it for my twin's second birthday. So much so that it prompted me to buy the Planet Cakes book. I thought the cake design may have been in there too, unfortunately not. Any chance of finding out whether they used a pattern or did they just create their own using Miffy as an inspiration?
