PS. To answer Kerstin’s query about whether boys were invited: I would have loved to have boys enter Snow White’s forest (the seven dwarves!), but little Tessa’s circle of friends is made up entirely of girls! x

I don’t see an issue with only having boys or girls at a party in certain circumstances. My daughter’s fourth birthday party will be a girl’s only affair – and a very girly one at that – even though she has two brothers. Sometimes it just works out that way, especially if little girls don’t have boy relatives or playmates and to be honest, for girl-themed birthdays like princesses and fairies and the like, it is much easier, especially when everything is pink, pink, pink! My son’s friend had a ninja-themed party last week where only boys attended, so it’s not uncommon the other way too.

But I must admit, that I am not sure about one gender only parties.
Especially when the child is only three years old. Or were there little princes around ;0) ?
