Back when I was a child, the notion of keeping up with the Jones’ hadn’t occurred to me yet. I had a cubby house built out of old tarps and mosquito netting which I was perfectly happy with. But now that I’ve seen the Kiddo cubby house from Modern Cabana I can see how it might happen; you get invited to someone’s place who happens to have one, and all of a sudden you’re dragging your mum to IKEA trying to jazz up your own place. This sort of cubby house could do that to you.

Featuring state-of-the-art important stuff for little ones such as: chalk paint interior walls, a paper roll art station and a fold fown table, this house is a dream spot for those hankering for their own space. I love that it’s made using non-toxic paints, FSC certified woods harvested from sustainable managed forests, and has a fully furnished interior and exterior. Not bad for $US1500 huh?

They ship nationwide only, but let’s be honest, it would be ridiculous trying to get it here in the first place. Still, what a wonderful idea for a DIY project!
