Here are a few of our readers child friendly cafes and restaurants that we wanted to share with you from all over the country. We will keep letting you know of our favourites as they come in. Thanks for all your brilliant responses, we hope to build a very thorough list from all parts of the country.

Bitton Gourmet Cafe, Alexandria NSW - the food is lovely and they have a great playroom for the kids full of toys which makes your mealtime more enjoyable. They have a terrific kids menu including fish and chips and the kids food is FREE for under 10 years old!  The staff is very friendly and they are used to have kids running around and while you are there you can take advantage and do some organic grocery shopping if needed.

Shillinglaw Cottage, Eltham VIC -  Not much room inside but a fantastic back yard which is fully enclosed. Lawn and a large tree that all the kids play under. I usually take a bag of balls and toys that I always have in the boot but they always find sticks and leaves to build with! The staff are very friendly towards children and the food is great.

Nosh at Newport, Newport VIC - The staff are fantastic and anticipate your every need.  For example, they'll ask if you need a high chair but only when your child is at the age when they're possibly sitting in a high chair.  Before that age, they'll seat you at a table where there is room for you to have your pram and baby by your side.  For older kids, there's butcher's paper and crayons and pencils and there may even be a kid friendly menu (not sure as it's not an issue for my little one yet). The staff are unflappable and don't seem to mind the often raucous environment that they work in as they always have a smile on their faces and no request seems to be too big or too small. On top of this, the coffee is great and the food is fantastic.

Sorrento's Cafe, Mount Gambier SA - Ok .. we feel like we live at the end of the earth.. but if anyone is visiting Mount Gambier SA (Half way between Melbourne and Adelaide).. Sorrento’s café on Bay Road is a must visit with children. Plenty of pram space, great kids meals, tasty milkshakes in take away coffee containers and babycino etiquette! Also a good buzz so noisy children blend in.. very important!
Thank you Yolande for sending this in.

Madisons Cafe - The Oasis @ Broadbeach, Gold Coast QLD - Madisons Cafe is renowned on the Gold Coast as a hip place to meet and have a steaming hot coffee and, if you're a sweet tooth, a delectable treat. But I can assure you, they are happy to accommodate groups of Mums & Bubs too. There are a few outdoor tables that can cope with the prams. On one occasion, the owner, Lincoln Testa, actually came out to ensure we (a group of 6 mums, 6 babies & 6 prams) were comfortable and he even sent out a waitress to take our orders even though it is counter service only. Now that's friendly. No wonder things are going well at Madisons!

Mures Lower Deck at Consitution Dock, Hobart TAS - On the waterfront, this is a great one for kids...
It's busy, a bit of noise and hustle and bustle (so maybe not so good if you are trying to settle bubs to sleep) but great, if your kids are on the noisy side, no-one notices. The kids meals are great plus fabulous food for Mum and Dad and a bar there if you want a beer or wine with dinner. For the kids baskets of crayons and colouring in sheets. High chairs are available (and not just one). Tables and chairs that you can easily move around to suit larger families as well as great outdoor areas where the kids can look at the fishing boats. There are plenty of (metered) parking spots.
