We know Halloween isn’t celebrated by everyone here in Australia but what better excuse do you need to go a little bit batty, hollow out a pumpkin and just generally have some fun times by scaring the kids in your street a little?

The first stop on this Halloween journey is the kitchen with some special spooky treats to be made for everyone to enjoy. I adore those Ghost Meringue Cupcakes from Jenny Steffens – sitting up on a cake platter they’re sure to be the star of the table! A really easy cupcake Halloween makeover is to create Spiky Monsters just like these pictured above from Better Homes and Gardens.

Halloween cookies are perfect for lunch boxes and we love the Candy Corn Cookies from Jane Weber and the frightful but delightful Spider Web Cookies pictured above. A Mummy style hot dog (puff pastry can be used) with a side of carefully carved Apple Bites makes a frighteningly fun lunch!

Moving on to the craft and decorating front, we suggest you head outside to find a fallen branch to create Martha Stewart’s Bat Mobile perfect for a Halloween ambience – and how can you resist a few of these Friendly Ghosts hanging from the rafters?

Get in the swing of things by letting your neighbours know you’ve gone batty for Halloween and dress the front door up Honey and Fitz or Passion For Parties style.

Here is a fantastic opportunity to renew your crayon collection with these Recycled Jack O’Lantern Pumpkin Crayons from Ivy Lane Designs – or you can melt your own collection down into Halloween style moulds using this crayon melting tutorial.

For a great inside activity with serious paper folding action, look no further than your very own printer with cute as can be Team Halloween Printouts ($3.96 for the kit) from Mibo Studio.

Paper plates and black paint go a long way in Halloween crafting – with the addition of googly eyes, party hats and a handful of pipe cleaners (cat whiskers) you can have an assortment of witches hats and black cats!

It’s only natural to dress up while enjoying all this scary festivity and here are some beauties you can make all yourself. The very talented Alpha Mom provides tutorials on how to create a gorgeous owl and bat costume, or purchase one of these amazing outfits priced from $59 from Incy Interiors.
We hope you have a fabulous Halloween, let us know what ideas you have under your very own (witch) hat!
