My 2try old loves guess how much I love u. His eyes enter glued to the screen. Jack is dissapointed when it gets taken off ABC. Its his last cartoon he watches before his toons get taken of for the night.
We have recently had a new bub and so there is a bit of an adjustment period happening in our house at the moment. Now some nights we have a little trouble putting Mr-Almost-3 to bed, and so we share the load. One night i do it, and one night Daddy does it and so on. Recently his favourite 2 books have been Guess How Much I Love You (the original & In The Autumn) so one night when it was story time Daddy took the torch into his room and read Guess How Much I Love You while our son held the torch at the pages. On the very last page Daddy turned the torch off, he read the final line, kissed our son goodnight and left the room… and do you know what happened next? Nothing, he just went straight to sleep. It was such a beautiful & peaceful bedtime.
My sons father was deployed before he was born. His first meeting of his son was breath taking. So many emotions filled the air port. He comes from a long line of fishermen in his family, so his first day home, him and our son went fishing. I can already tell my son will be a pro like his father.
Having twins boys and a newborn boy, their Daddy is so amazing! After giving Mummy a sleep in on the weekend, I found my 4 men sitting on the lounge all snuggled together under a doona watching TV. Adorable!!
A book called i love you daddy by Melanie joyce. I love it because it reminds me of my hubby and his kids when they were little. Now he gets to do it all again with our bub :)
Pinocchio. A truly lovely father son story. The story which is more about a father’s joy and a son’s devotion. (with a little bit about lying on the way). So sweet to show the relationship a real father has with his “real” son
After whatching Guess how much I love you the other night, Son said to Dad “guess how how much I love you?” dad said “how much?” “As much as the door in my (dishwasher) box”.
And this box has been in our living room at least 8 weeks, the best dishwasher cubby house box ever!
This has always been our favourite book (my son is now 3 1/2). We’d love to win this lovely prize. Recently I overheard my son tell his father, “Daddy, I love you. Even I love your mould”. Mould?!?! Apparently the word should have been moles!
My favourite father and son moment was when my son was about 2 mths old and it was the first time daddy had been ‘in charge’. I went out to dinner with some girlfriends. I rang when I arrived at the restaurant to check how the boys were travelling and ‘fabulous, us boys are fine! Don’t worry dear!’ It put my mind at easy so I didn’t ring again and stayed out a little later than expected. Upon return, I walked into our bedroom to see my son sound asleep in the middle of our king sized bed…. But where was daddy?????…. Sound asleep on the floor beside the bed!!!
He didn’t want to move him incase he woke and didn’t want to sleep beside him incase he accidentally squished him. :)
My most recent father/son moment was this fathers day. My husband been away for work, arrived home at 1am. My 2 yr old son hears him arrive home, sleepily gets out of bed, without a word gets his daddy’s fathers day present & gives it to him sleepily saying ‘happy fathers day daddy’ they sat up tigether opening the present with so much love in both of their eyes!
Guess How Much I Love You IS my favorite father and son story! My husband would read it to our son when he was in the NICU ward, and they still read it together 2.5 years later =)
Our little girl loves ‘My Daddy is Brilliant’ by Nick Butterworth. Perhaps that’s because her Daddy is brilliant too!
My best father/son moment was when my son was born and my husband held him for the first time. The happiness, joy, wonder and pride on his face was unforgettable – as were the tears…
Wish I could just post my favourite pic of my husband and our daughter walking together along the oceans edge on a beach…sometimes a picture says a thousand words!
I love reading this book to little boy his 15 months old so still trying to get him to keep still and look at books haha
My best father/son moment was my husband just received a bravery medal so made front page of the newspaper. Master 2 was so excited to see Daddy in the paper, that he showed his baby brother and then took the paper to childcare to show his teachers and the other kids. He was so proud!!
I love watching my hubby play with our 3 sons(and 1 daughter)outside with their toy paintball guns . they have such a great time shooting the trees and garbage bins hahaha. I think hubby loves it just as much as the kids !!
My favourite Father and Son moment is when my husband who was in hospital for 5 months of my pregnancy first held his son – unforgettable
I remember the day we brought our son home from the hospital. My husband volunteered to give Linc a cuddle while I had a shower, when I came out they were both sound asleep together. It was such a beautiful moment.
My favorite father and son story is the lion king, a real tear jerker!
We have our first bub on the way and already Daddy is doing an amazing job. From looking after me so well during months of morning sickness to setting up the nursery and putting up with endless visits to baby shops. I can’t wait to see him meet his little person for the very first time!
I have a 2 yo daughter (which I wouldn’t change for the world) so don’t have any father and son stories but I have a million father and daughter ones. My favourite is how every weekday she waits near the door waiting for her Daddy to come home and every car she hears she jumps up and says “DAD DAD” is so dissapointed when it’s not him. When Daddy does make it home she almost jumps out of her skin with excitment I just love that
My favourite father and son story is Finding Nemo. Nemo the clownfish learns after being caught as an aquarium fish that although his father Marlin seems overly protective and restrictive at times, he always has his best intentions at heart.
My favourite moments watching my son and husband play together include: Watching them snuggle on the couch watching this show at night! Also when my husband goes surfing, my son sits on the beach pointing out which one is Daddy. When my husband comes in from the surf, he is so excited to see him. My husband picks him up and walks back up the beach… surfboard in one hand, son in the other. They have a beautiful bond. :)
We love My Daddy and Me book from award-winning illustrator Tina Macnaughton. When Little Bear is with his Daddy, he is the fastest, tallest, happiest Little Bear in the whole world. This book always reminds me of the story my Dear Dad told me so many times: he grew up at the end of the second world war and his Dad left his Mum with 5 kids at those tough times. Many boys lost their fathers during the war. Sometimes my Dad’s father visited them, and my Dad was the happiest boy on the street proudly walking with his own Dad and holding his hand, deep feelings overwhelming him.It was such a moving and rare Dad and son moment that he remembered it all his life. My Dad passed away a month ago and left his memories for me to treasure.
Timothy asked Dad another, Daddy how come…. After dad answered, Timothy looked at his Dad and said, “Daddy you know everything, you could be a professor”
My son is almost 5 now. Since he was two years old instead of calling his Dad, ‘Dad’. He has called him by his name. Everyone thinks its hilarious. Its always Dan this, and Dan that… When anyone asks him why he does not call him Dad he just replies in an off handed sort of way,
‘Well his name is Dan’ Like, Derrr..
He is and has always been a very independent spirit.
Today my two year old daughter and her daddy were blowing kisses, laughing, and sharing jam sandwiches and it was a beautiful sticky mess (for me to clean up).
We love reading this book to our two little girls! I’m pregnant with baby number three and don’t know the gender yet so there might be some father son stories to come in future.
One of my most treasured father child moments was the first few moments after our first child was born. We didn’t know the gender so were eagerly awaiting to find out at the birth. In the delivery room, baby #1 was born and was quickly wrapped up for warmth. My huband and I were so elated in awe of our little bub. They were weighing and checking and cutting cords a meter or two away from my bed. My husband kept running between me and the bub, not sure who he should stay with. So I reassured him that it was fine for him to stay with bub, but find out what sex it is! He’d been so in awe of our bub it hadn’t occurred for him to check! And we both broke in to tears of joy when he announced it was a little girl.
The film Charlie and Boots about a father and son on a cross country road trip was not only funny but a realistic portrayal that was right on the money!
My father and son story is how excited my son gets and the pride that my partner has in his eyes for my son after every tuesday that they spend together. When i was about 6-7mths pregnant i found it too hard physically to take my son to a therapy gymnastics class for kids with disabilities, so i pleaded and compromised with my partner to take my place and take my son so that he would still get to participate and not miss out on a great day of fun and socialisation and most of all great therapy. My baby is now 4mths old, but my partner is gladly keeping tuesday a daddy and son day :)
So he ensures that he has every tuesday off work to take our eldest son, who turns 4 shortly. They love their day together, look forward to it with excitement and beam with smiles when they come home :)
I love the ‘winter’ story in Guess How much I Love You All Year Round? Such lovely stories.
My baby’s daddy is a builder. When he works around the house, my 18 month old son gets his bag of tools and works with him. It is so cute watching him grow and bond that way!
Pinocchio,When first time I saw this movie,I cried so much,it just touched my heart! I watched this with my son, when he was 5,stil when ever I watch this movie,I get chocked with emotions.
A story of Geppetto, a cobbler and his love for a wooden puppet, who is like a son to him,is a timeless piece of treasure from the classic literature.
Father and son relation is more complex than the mother and her child, because he is assumed to be more strong emotionally.but this story just melt that definition touches our heart!
My daughter loves The Daddy Book by Todd Parr.she has fun guessing which one her daddy is more like on each page
Baby girl and I love ‘Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me’ by Eric Carle. It’s a beautiful story. You can watch a video of the it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Evf3ITjmKCc

I Love My Daddy by Giles Andreae
My baby boy loves his daddy so much that when it is time to feed him he can’t take his eyes off his daddy so it is very slow process getting him fed!! And Daddy is able to soothe Patrick when he is in distress at night as his daddy comforts him by holding him close.. Patrick also loves this show!!
My husband sitting on the couch with his “two boys” my Labrador cuddled up next to dad and my newborn son asleep in dad’s arms. So much love
I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE by Virginia Miller portrays the Father beautifully.
Patient & loving even though the child is grumpy and cross.
A sweet book that resonated strongly in our household.
My favourite story is how well my son and his father get on every day.It is lovely to watch such a wonderful relationship blooming every single day.
My 3 yo loves this show and book and I do to. The characters are so lovely to each other, it’s beautiful.
I like the story of Edward & Bill in the movie ‘Big Fish’ – it has the lesson that the details don’t matter so much as the destination – just moves me for some reason.
wow, my daughter would absoulutley love this, Fingers crossed xx
Now that Spring has sprung, my husband loves to take our son out on afternoon explorations – looking at the leaves on the trees, the flowers, the bees! It such a lovely thing for the two of them to do – just like the beautiful bond between father and child in the ‘Guess how much i love you’ stories!
I love how my son prefers to be put to bed by his dad (he’s 13 months old) and as soon as he’s in his dads arms and gives me a kiss and we say goodnight he starts waving instantly to me! Now his Dad is teaching him to blow me a kiss which is adorable!!
No one particular moment for me, just all the little ones.
Things like finding hubby sound asleep in bed with our sons.
Watching them build things together, heads down in concentration.
Them sitting quietly in the boat, waiting for the ever elusive fish…
All of these and more are my favorite thing in the world!
Still working on becomming a mum… 4 months to go!!!!! I’m looking forward to spending time with my little one watching this cute showit looks wonderful!
Guess how much my son loves ‘guess how much I love you’?
You know it – to the moon and back!
My son and his dad share this story every night. Now the show is on tv each night and my husband walks round the house singing ‘guess how much I love you, guess how much I love you, guess.. How much… I love you’. Adorable.
The Lion King. :)
My husband loves reading books to our 21 month old son and I love listening from afar. All of a sudden a classic children’s book will become a mix of varies movies with car chases, dance offs and talking animals.
I feel blessed to witness beautiful father/son moments everyday with my husband and son. From seeing them hold hands, to watching my hubby love and teach by example, I cherish every one of those moments.
My husband and son love playing together, he is 7mths old and no one can make him giggle like his daddy it is too cute!
I love a story from the little golden book collection called “the Bunny Book”. It’s sweet. Everyone is trying to guess what baby bunny will be when he grows up. He ignores them because he already knows that all he wants to be is a daddy bunny – just like his dad. It’s very cute.
My Husband always reads my Daddy and me to our daughter before bed. Its about a daddy bear and his son, it’s still a bedtime favorite!! (Gruffalo child is next in the list!)
I really love the relationship between Simba and his dad in the lion king. his dad is his guide, protector and friend everything a great dad should be
My son only lets his daddy read him ‘time for bed’ by men fox. It’s very sweet how they snuggle in bed together and read. Our boy turns the pages and daddy does voices etc. it’s the only time of the day they have together so it’s so lovely to watch.
we have a 5 month old boy called archer…i always overhear my husband calling him “son”….he always says…my dad used too call me “son” and it made me feel very special…so sweet…
My husband and son read the book “no kisses for daddy” and at the end daddy gets hugs and kisses
My favourite father-son moment was when my son was crying and was difficult to settle. My husband came in, scooped him up and started signing a song to him. My son abruptly stopped crying and was just memorized by his father’s voice.
When asking my two year old recently who his best friend was he replied with “Daddy best friend” it was gorgeous! :-)
We’ve said to our children since they were tiny “have I told you today that I love you”. I love it when my partner says “have I told you today?” and a little voice says “I love you Dad”.
My favorite father and son story is my hubby swearing to me he could never change a smelly nappy.. That was before we had our son, To watch him now behave as though it is nothing and he almost gives off a sense of pride in a change, to know his baby is comfortable again. It makes me proud to know how happy he is to be involved in the not so glamorous side of being a daddy..
Mines a Daddy daughter story! We were given a copy of “Guess How Much I Love You” at our Calmbirth class. My husband had never read it before. But that night I asked if he would read it to our daughter (I was about 28 weeks pregnant) he did & he continued to read it to her every night! The night she was born they snuggled up together & he read it to her…I swear she knew what it was. Now at 8 months she loves watching it with her Daddy! Xx
My 3 year old son always gets carried upside down to his bed when it’s time to sleep because he says he loves the feeling of being like a bird.
My husband drives coaches and is away from home a lot of the time. He surprised my 18 month old son and I by turning up to one of my sons swimming lessons. My little boy isn’t keen on the water but on seeing daddy he was trying his hardest to impress. Each time he dived under the water he would come up with a huge smile on his face and a huge wave. We all had tears in our eyes. Their really is such a special bond between fathers and sons.
My son is only 8 months so Daddy reads him We’re Going On A Bear Hunt :) a favourite.
My oldest of three had lost his favourite ball into a backyard next to school, it was overgrown and no-one home. That evening when Dad came home and saw his tear stained little face in the bath, he turned around and went out in the dark and got it :)
My husdand would read to our baby while in the womb, he has a love of books and it was his way of bonding with the baby. She is 2months old and He reads to her every night, their favorite is the gruffalo.
Hi! I loved that book. I don’t live in Australia, but will share the giveaway on my blog for my Aussie readers.
My son loves going 4x4ing with his dad. So much so that he said “Mummy, what’s your favourite smell?” I said the air when you get out of the car at the beach. He said, with great emphasis “I LOVE the smell of WD-40. It smells like 4x4ing!”
The day he arrived in the big wide world, a unique bond was born
A bond between father and son, one that could not be torn.
The final moment of his birth, I heard my husband say
“He’s so beautiful”, the words still resound today.
My husband cut the cord, a wonderful symbol of his new life starting now
It was time to cut the ties of his life in-utero, and begin his new life somehow.
My husband’s eyes welled with tears of pure happiness and joy
What a roller coaster ride of emotions, for Daddy and his boy.
From that day on, a love so beautiful was born for our little guy
And now five years later, this love is so deeply reciprocated from son to father, don’t make me cry!
From soccer matches, to stories in bed, to bike rides, or playing Lego on the floor
The time spent between my big man and my little man, is something they both adore
These times are precious, they pass us by with a blink of the eye, it’s true
They make us realize how blessed we are to have the gorgeous kids we do.
My 4 year old autistic son loves nothing better than to play hide and seek with his dad or be tucked into bed listening to the sound of his dads voice reading him a bed time story, or giggling and playing together on the trampoline, and being constantly reminded of how much he is loved!
My 3 year olds favourite saying to his daddy at the moment is “I love you in the whole wide world”….translation, “I love you THE MOST in the whold wide world”. Too cute!!!!!
The relationship our 19month old little girl has with her Daddy brings tears of joy to my eyes. My husband has a playful, gentle attitude towards his little girl and he makes special times every morning and night to read, tickle, teach and play with her! Guess how much I love you is one of their favourite shows to watch together, definitely one I hope to buy the whole series of books one day! Its so adorable!!! :)
My favourite father and son story is the Movie,
‘The Pursuit of Happyness ‘,a story of a father and a A struggling salesman, who takes custody of his son as he’s poised to begin a life-changing professional endeavor.most impressively it is based on a true story of a man named Christopher Gardner.I have read the original one as well, and both are equally powerful to penetrate our heart.
First time when I watched this movie, I cried, laughed, cheered and applauded,I realized,Father is as important as a mother for any child!
this story is one of the very few, which makes a special place in our heart for ever!
Hubby used to work so many hours 7-days a week that our daughter hardly knew him. She’d even cry when he’d try to cuddle her – it was so upsetting to watch!
So we made a choice and upped sticks and downgraded our lives so we could share the raising of our kids.
Recently out of the blue she told me “I miss daddy, he’s my best”.
Was one of the best moments, knowing they’re relationship is now that strong!
Just Me and My Dad (Little Critter) Mercer Mayer
There is an iPad ap for the book and my son loves it
My little one loves to read the book ‘My dads the coolest’. It epitomizes the relationship between father & child!!!
I have two favourite daddy-daughter moments:
1. The first time bub said “I love you” was over Skype with daddy whilst daddy was working late. It was absolutely out of the blue (we weren’t teaching her or anything!) and daddy’s response was priceless!
2. Daddy LOVES to play guitar, and bub LOVES to imitate and plays her ukelele. She often tries to get as close as possible to daddy whilst playing (and sits right next to him!)
The way my little guy laughs so hard when daddy plays hide and seek behind the lounge, it’s priceless, makes me smile.
Our daughter LOVES the “gesseefoo” (Guess How Much I Love You) CD. She’ll drag her dad over to the CD player, spread her special “gesseefoo” blanket out, turn the CD player on (kids these days…) and start playing it. With each action, she’ll say to Dadda “ready for feet?” or “ready for hopping?” before gracefully flipping her legs up in the air and hopping around the room. Needless to say, it does keep Dadda fit…
My son was about three and we would play this… all the sand on the beach, all the leaves in the forest etc. One day I was winning and he climbed up on my lap, took my face in his hands and he said with great determination “I Love you sooooo much” and he paused as he trembled and shook with eyes wide open and boring into my eyes…. “that……. it makes the MONSTER come out in me”
My favrote farther son moment happens every single day when my son wakes up and says Daddy It’s good morning I love you,i miss you. It touches my heart as my husband works away and they both adore each other even though it’s hard.
Just this morning I caught my hubby &15 month son snuggling in our bed. Tickles & giggles shared. Only daddy with a tear in his eye, savouring every minute of this lad’s babyhood
Watching my 2 week old son (our first) and his daddy snuggle in bed after a 4am nappy change melts my heart & makes the sleepless nights so worth it :)
The best moment every day is when Daddy comes home from work with his coffee van. My little boy Owen hears the roller door and runs to get his shoes so he can go outside and help daddy with the van. He adores his daddy and by the look in my husbands eyes I can tell the feeling is 100% mutual <3
My most cherished father son monent was the amazing smile my partner had when he got to hold our son after he was born it was the most amazing moment, ill never forget that smile.. My partner has an amazing smile every time our son achieves a new milestone its the best :)
I chuckle everyday when my 17 month old pulls his chair up to the coffee machine and juggles cups, jugs and makes all the wooshing steaming noises in just the same way he does every morning under his daddys tutelage.
Dance me, Daddy is her favorite daddy book and mine to it brings a tear to my eye every time her dad reads it to her.
So many to choose from but I would have to say the very first time our 9 month old baby boy said daddad just recently before this father day my beautiful husband’s eyes lit up and I could see a tear I excitedly yelped did you hear that and he replied oh he melts my heart and that is the best fathers day present anyone could asked for oh I just gushed my heart filled with happiness he was a man mans now he is just a bowl of jelly everytime our little boy says daddad ;) I love their bond they have, it just gets stronger with everything our son does
My beautiful son and husband love all the spot books! They are colorful, quick and fun books! Great after a bath to get ready for bed!
They both enjoy this time together so much and I think it’s so import for then to bond with their dads!!
i love it that every day when my hubby comes home from work he is always greated by a huge grin from our son and it is even better now he has learnt to say “Daddy daddy daddy daddy”!!!
Kristy Booth
We are expecting a baby boy in 7 weeks and already loves his father (and big sister) as when he talks to him through my belly, he flips and kicks.
Reading time is when our baby boy is most active, and loves listening via the tummy to any story that his daddy chooses.
I can’t go past the Lion King. Great father son story.
With myself being a father of 3 ( 2 boys + 1 girl ), my best father and son moment would had to of been last night with my new week old baby boy Xavier. I told my wife to lay down in bed straight after his last fed at 7 o’clock ( cause she has not slept for a week! ) and after I got our other two in bed i went to go lay down too, just as Xavier woke for another fed ofcourse. So I got up with him to give my wife a break and went to sit down in the lounge room infront of the fire and fed him and i looked after him till just after midnight so as my wife would not get disturbed. It was the best 3 hours, just me and my tiny little man ( born 5lb 9oz). It was so nice to just sit down in the quiet of the night with his big blue eyes starring back at mine, without my other two 3 year olds running round screaming. :)
Guess how much I love this show as it’s on while I am cooking dinner! The kids now say I put extra love into the dinner as they are out of my hair whilst I cook!
My 1 year old has just learnt to ‘kiss’ (placing his open drool covered open mouth against mine). I asked my son to ‘kiss Daddy’ for the first time and my husband’s expression as he was given his first kiss was a beautiful memorable moment for us all.
My favourite dad and son moment is when my husband comes home after a long day at work and they have cuddle time on the couch-precious!
I love my husbands father/son time with our 8 month old when they have bath/shower time together. My husband calls me into the bathroom to show me how much his son loves and cuddles him. While this is the best sight in the world, my husband spoils the mood with his quote ‘if you don’t have a penis, leave-s’ makes me laugh every time… Daddy loves his boys club
Proving ‘the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’ – watching father and 10 month old son nap together on the couch in exactly the same position.
My 2 yr old son loves this show. We only recently discovered it and he now always sings me the song, “guess how much I love you”. Melts my heart.
My favorite father/son moment to watch is when my lil boy (16mths) helps his daddy fix the car. He hands him the tools he makes music with the tools it’s just so nice to see them bonding he idolizes his daddy
Our boys think their daddy is the best and funniest! He makes them laugh a lot and he sometimes reminds me of Mr Noodle from Sesame Street (whom we all adore)!! The boys love it when daddy says goodnight and they get to shut the door on him then pretends to him with the door accidentally (he makes a little banging noise with his foot) then when he opens the door his eyeglass is all screwed up, the kids are sometimes rolling on the floor laughing as each time daddy’s eyeglass is somewhere else, hanging on his ear or aroud his neck for instance. Master 6 and 5 and even little master 6months old love daddy-n-me-laughing time!! Not only at bedtime but every other time too!! Mommy can’t help but watch and giggle along :D
We love this story so much! We often watch it on TV with our 14 months old daughter. We also love to snuggle and read the book together. It’s so sweet one day I heard my husband singing the song over and over again to our girl when he’s playing with her.
We have a 13 year old son, a 12 year old daughter and a 15 month old son. Our teen has been missing out a bit lately with his active brother talking a lot of our time, but never complains so I was really pleased to hear him ask my hubby if he’d read to him again this week. They read books like the Hobbitt and are working their way through the LOTR series – so nice that a 13 year old still likes that, and that is Dad loves doing it for him.
The best story is that of my stepfather and his son. He had not seen his son for 7 years as he lived in England, nor had he met his two grandchildren. Just last week his son surprised my stepfather by turning up on his doorstep with his wife and grand kids and said they have moved back to Australia to be near him. Needless to say there were tears of joy all around. What a beautiful moment
Our little man is 11moz old today and is out of control when he sees his pappa! I cannot win when he is in my arms..he reaches out with the greatest love in his voice as if he is saying: “take me daddy!”
..but a very special Guess how much I love you moment is EVERY night at 6.15 when our youngest daughter eagerly awaits the episode and make sure daddy is close. As
soon as the music start as program begins she grabs him around his neck and holds on with eyes shut till music stops and turns around watching the story on daddy’s lap. We desperately need a copy so she can catchup on daddys lap whenever he’
s home late!!!
“Guess how much I Love You” I hear a little voice sing almost every day. Such a beautiful message in this show!
One night I woke up to giggles and banging in the middle of the night and I got up to investigate- my husband, his son, and mine were all snuggled up on the couch with popcorn watching back to the future! He had gotten home after work about 2am and the boys had set their alarms to wake up to see him (yes it was the weekend!!)
I don’t have a son but I have two beautiful little Girls that absolutely adore the daddy. My 2 year old asks for him from the time he leaves for work till he gets home saying “Daddy work?” when he arrives home she runs to him giggling. It’s the sweetest thing and brings tears to my eyes. Our ten month old crawls to him as fast as she can saying “dad dad dad dad” the whole way lol. They love their daddy. And he’s awsum at being one. Couldn’t b prouder!!! <3
At 6 months pregnant upon finding me an absolute wreck as I had just peed myself whilst vomiting in our loungeroom (ugly, ugly scene) my partner walked up, put his hands and face on my belly and said ‘it’s ok, I love you so much I don’t even care about the mess you’ve made on your mum. Probably the only thing that could stop me crying at that point lol
to be perfectly honest, I never realised that Big Nut Brown Hare was a daddy and Little Nut Brown Hare was a Son. I have always just read it – to my 18 y.o when he was a small child many, many years ago, and now to my 3 y.o and 18 m.o, as a big and a little who love each other all the way to the moon and back. My two little people adore the series on ABC2. My littlest makes lala noises and sways from side to side when she hears the theme song start up, they both love to sing and sway. then they sit and watch it mesmerized together. I’m often asked to rewind it “back to the beginning please”!
My favourite father son story is The Lion King. My 18 y.o watched it over and over, I think I could recite it word for word from start to end,and it still makes me tear up! I do much prefer the original edition over the new directors cut that we currently have.
Grandfather, father, son…
Grandson to Grandfather: ‘Dad’s going to get bogged’
Dad to son: ‘No I’m not’
Son to dad: ‘Told you…I will get my spade!’
Father, son dig…grandfather watches slightly amused…well a lot amused!
3 generations share a men’s thing!
My favourite father son moment, its hard to pick,
Maybe playing dinosaurs, gardening or finding sticks.
No no no, thats not the one,
It must this one of father and son.
Curled up together all cosy and warm,
Fast asleep from dusk til dawn.
My four year old son turned to his dad and said ‘dad maybe we can take mummy’s mind out of her mouth and change it so she barracks for the our team the bombers and not the blues.’ Priceless.
To Kill a Mockingbird is my favourite father and son story . Atticus Finch teaches both his children through example, patience, modesty and kindness. He allowed them to develop their own unique personalities, whilst teaching them about empathy and explaining the motivations behind others actions. All whilst being a widower raising his children by himself and working very hard to defend an innocent man despite massive opposition. He has a lot of character traits that I would like to emulate, and his character is the basis of the great relationship that he has with his children.
My grandson Samuel loves his daddy so much because he just loves doing all the things that daddy does, mowing, hammering, painting, working on the computer, fixing things. He wants to be just like his daddy because he just adores him and Dom equally adores his son Samuel.
