I’ve never been one to shy away from a lolly shop – truth be known, I push thoughts of my dentist’s disapproving frown to the back of my mind and go in all guns blazing. I am a self-confessed sweets enthusiast (not quite sugar addict) and it would be no chore at all for me to visit this candy wonderland!

The Candy Room founders Cristina Velardo and Leonie Schwetzer wanted to create more than a mere retail experience with their store, and it looks to me like they’ve indeed succeeded – The Candy Room looks like a treat-laden bonanza of goodies to discover.

We at Babyology love that The Candy Room isn’t just about the product – their shop fit-out is magnificent and completely suitable for this genre. The white canvas with thick black drawn-in outlines of furniture and the like resembles a colouring book while the bounty of sweet treats lends ample colour to brighten the space. How can you possibly not have fun here?

The Candy Room can be found on the corner of Queen and Bourke streets, Melbourne – I’ll definitely be adding it to my “must see” list next time I’m visiting!
