I may have mentioned previously how my children think birthday cake tome, The Australian Women’s Weekly Kids’ Party Cakes, is just a picture book. We don’t actually make anything out of it, just look at the pictures. Cake decorating is not my forte so I’m always on the lookout for ways to make birthday cakes memorable that don’t involve fourteen different shades of icing – Twirling Betty has the answer.
Twirling Betty has created a range of sweet cake bunting and banners that turn an ordinary cake into a stunning centrepiece.
Bunting and banners are personalised with whatever name or phrase you wish. As Christen Dell, the designer behind Twirling Betty suggests, there’s no need to stop at cakes – bunting and banners look great on tarts, pies, pavlovas or even meatloaf (hmm, how about a ‘Tuck in!’ banner for everyday use?!).

Bunting is $15 and banners are $25. Both are available directly through the Twirling Betty Etsy store. If Twirling Betty sounds familiar, you may remember our previous post on her gorgeous fifties style sunhats.
