It’s a tragic fact but my fashionable, stylish side always goes on holiday when I’m pregnant. It’s not that I don’t want a neat baby bump that I can swathe in gorgeous maternity fashion. It’s just that my body refuses to cooperate and always delivers a side-order of frump with my bump.
So I’m supremely jealous of all those lucky mamas-to-be who’ll get to waltz rather than waddle their way through pregnancy in these stunning maternity designs from the Bumpology label by Hannah McNicol.
We promise the morning sickness, the varicose veins and the overwhelming desire to eat strange foods will be much easier to cope with when you’re wearing something – anything – from the glamorous new range.

After a year-long sabbatical, designer Hannah McNicol has reinvented her maternity label with sumptuous organic cotton jerseys that will love your bump as much as you do. We also applaud the way she insists on using only organic dyes derived from plants to colour her fabrics so there’s no harsh chemicals to get between you and your growing baby.

And then there’s the clothes – the gorgeous, gorgeous clothes. Bumpology gives you dresses, skirts, pants and tops in muted shades that drape, hug and support your bump with incredible style. There’s a gathered jersey tshirt that I think may have even had me looking good! And because McNicol’s a mum after our own hearts as well as a designer, many of the pieces can also be worn post pregnancy and while nursing.
Bumpology by Hannah McNicol is available exclusively from Hannah’s bricks and mortar store in Paddington but don’t despair if you’re not a Sydneysider. The online store has just launched.
