Breastvest – discreet breastfeeding in your own clothes

I don’t know about you but during the early days of breastfeeding  I was much more focused on keeping my tummy hidden than anything else.

The Breastvest has just arrived in Australia from the UK and is a pretty great idea. The latest in breastfeeding innovation, this is an underwear item that turns any of your tops into breastfeeding tops. Basically it is a stretchy singlet with a neckline that hangs under the breasts so you wear it with a nursing bra and it gives you the freedom to lift whatever top you are wearing, unclip your bra and feed discreetly.

It’s machine washable, made from stretchy viscose and elastane, available in XS, S, M, L and XL and comes in black and white.

It will be available throughout Australia in selected chemists and baby stores soon but for now you can grab one at Mumma Loves Bubba for $29 with a flat shipping rate of $7.50.

  1. I had terrible pelvic instability, and wore the SRC pregnancy recovery shorts. They go up to just under the bust so as well as helping with recovery they doubled to hide the stomach!

  2. I agree with Bronte. I prefer the Undercover Mama. It covers the bra as well. It’s very easy to use & looks nicer than the breast vest. It allows you to wear any shirt you like, rather than BF tops. See brontes post earlier for the website.

  3. I think this is such a great idea, I wish I could have used it. After time I found the Bonds Bumps feeding singlets great, but this means you can wear a great and supportive feeding bra, this and off you go. This would give me the extra confidence for public outings.

  4. Great idea for nursing tops. Simple to use and easy to marry up with whatever top you are wearing at the time.

  5. Wow, thanks for sharing the item! Glad I’m not the only one trying to cover my stomache before anything else. Will be ordering myself a few

  6. Love the look of this! I have so many great tops that I can only stare at while breastfeeding. This would eliminate the need for hideously expensive specialised nursing wear. Off to purchase…
