When a host of celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Christy Turlington and Jennifer Lopez (to name but a few) can't stop raving about a particular product, you know you're on to a good thing. And if celebrity endorsement is anything to go by, then you can't get better than the Mama Mio skincare range for super-hot mamas and mamas-to-be.
I'm downstairs in the lobby of the Sheraton on the Park just after leaving the Mama Mio Australian launch today in Sydney and wanted to let you know about the products in the range and what is going to be available in Australia from 1 June. I snapped a quick pic which you can see below. They look beautiful!
Packed full of omega 3, 6 and 9, the top-selling products such as Boob Tube (a push-up bra in a cream), Tummy Rub Oil and Tummy Rub Butter are designed to keep your preggy skin supple and moisturised. And as a mum of two, I'm loving the sound of Goodbye Stretch Marks cream and push-up bra cream. Here's hoping...
The range will be available at Babies Galore
and selected maternity and gift stores, Mama Mio is all about offering
facial-quality body care at a time you need (and want) it most.
Luxurious maternity garments by Isabella Oliver are sublimely beautiful. The drape and style of the dresses and tops will flatter your pretty belly through these cold months of pregnancy in absolute style.
I love some of the functions on the Isabella Oliver site. I find sections such 'Best Sellers' and 'Our Favourites' handy as I tire easily of leafing through endless pages. Each garment's page comes with styling tips and there are even videos of the garments in action on the catwalk, just so you can see how they move.
Being based in the States, a lot of the winter wear is reduced and as of the 18 of May until the 31st, you can buy Isabella Oliver full-priced maternity dresses at 25 per cent off. I'm not even pregnant and I want one!

Nothing upset me more when I was pregnant than the cost of maternity clothing. At a time when I was about to go on (unpaid) maternity leave with thousands of dollars worth of medical expenses - and don't even get me started on the cost of a child and childcare - retailers were expecting me to spend more than one hundred dollars on a dress I was only going to wear for a few months? It seemed like madness to me.
Happily the people behind Bebek Maternity were clearly thinking the same thing when they set up their online maternity store. Stocking classic pieces every pregnant woman needs to get through the nine months (and let's face it, sometimes beyond!), every item is sub $60. And I don't just mean the essential belly bands, but also cargo pants, tops and jackets - bargain! As for me, I spent the last months of my pregnancy living in their classic jeans with belly support for $59.95. Not only were they stylish and cut like a designer pair of jeans (without the price tag) but they were super comfortable. In fact, several months after having my baby, I'm still wearing them and am constantly being asked where I got them from.
The online store is currently limited to wardrobe staples but they are planning on expanding into occasionwear shortly.
Shipping is a flat fee of $8.50 Australia-wide via express post.
I discovered Mavi
jeans back in the early 90s, became obsessed with them, and today my
wardrobe contains no less than four pairs of the brand at any one time.
What a shame then that having had a baby a few weeks ago, I didn't know
they were now doing some stylish maternity jeans as well! That could
have saved me quite a few disappointing and mind-numbingly
time-consuming jean shopping trips.
Yep, the hot Turkish label has released two styles as an extension of
its super cool 'Perfect Fit' jeans category, both designed with not
only aesthetics, but comfort in mind - the low-rise, straight-leg
'Lindy' jean, and the mid-rise, boot-cut 'Amelie'. Both come with
'adjust to fit' side rib panels to accommodate changing body shape and
retail for $149.95.

Is it just me or is dressing for pregnancy easier during the summer months? Empire-line tops and strapless maxi dresses make things a little simpler, but things get decidedly more complicated come the cooler months.
Fortunately, Fragile's new winter range of maternity clothing has hit the stores and, as is often the case with founder and designer Chris Degotardi's designs, the range is filled with stylish and classic pieces that will really pack a punch in your maternity wardrobe.
Particularly difficult to find is a perfect winter coat your don't have to pull together with a trench belt, so I'm loving the Marnie, a wool tweed coat, $425. Team it with a dress, jeans or pants, and you've got one sexy outfit.
Made in Australia, Fragile pieces are designed around comfort and made from natural fibres and organic cottons with natural dyes whenever possible.

Look out ladies, the freshest releases from
Stephanie Schell are about to hit stores this week. Schell's unique maternity garments have
that often elusive quality of making me fall in love instantly,
despite the fact I'm not doing any more child-making. One of the most
attractive features about this label is that it's designed to last
far longer than any other maternity wear, being adjustable according to
the various phases a maternal body experiences.
Lauded internationally for her Summer '08/'09 collection, which we featured here last
October,
stylish
mothers around the world are flattering their beautiful bumps and
post-baby bodies with Stephanie's ground-breaking designs
which allow discreet full-functionality while feeding baby. I have seen
for myself one of these exquisite garments in action - every
single piece is designed so that breastfeeding is facilitated via
ingenious mechanisms built within. Some feature individual front
panel openings, others have side or underbust access.
I just love the evocative description of the collection:
"Stephanie Schell’s Winter 2009 collection is a metamorphosis of the
old and the new. The collection was inspired by old world French
glamour with a rich array of draping winter whites, studded indigo
blues, ruched greys, tailored jet blacks and a flowing splash of silver."
I also applaud the personal touch she gives to the label by
modelling the garments herself. It's so delightful to see such a
breathtaking
talent lending her face to her own label.
Stephanie Schell launched the
Winter '09 range today. I'm sure expectant mothers will be
staking out the site as the weather is already tending towards cool in
some areas - don't break those F5 buttons people!
