Any parent who lives for their kids’ nap time – a time when they finally get a chance to eat, cram in some work, or collapse in front of the TV – knows that routine is sacred. And Kinderling, the digital radio station for families, understands this too, and has built its programming around the rhythm of our days spent with children.
But just because Kinderling is radio for kids, it doesn’t mean the grown-ups won’t love it too. With artists like David Bowie, Boards of Canada and Caspar Babypants, Kinderling has something for everyone in the family.
The day starts at 6am with the “I’m Awake” show, favoured by parents and their early birds. At 7am, it’s time for “Start Your Engines”, a music show designed to help the family get dressed, fed and ready for the busy activities of the day. “Play And Learn” at 9am is a music mix designed to accompany all the counting, playing, dancing, and discovering that busy kids do every day.
During the 3pm school run and flurry of after-school activities, there’s “Pick Me Up”, a show that gives parents the gritty stylings of The White stripes and kids the comedy of the Muppets. For the dreaded witching hours, “Settle Petal” has tunes to help kids chill out, and stories to help them wind down. And after that, “Sleepy Soundtrack” is your family’s companion to help little ones get a great night sleep, with a playlist of safe, gentle music and lullabies from bedtime to breakfast.
Kinderling radio is available on digital radio, as an Android or iPhone app, or online.
