  1. This would be great we spend a lot of time outside during the warmer months with family and friends and it would be great to have the piece of mind that our little one is safe and sound inside, we can see them, and don’t have to keep checking on them. I also love the lullaby feature.

  7. Ashleigh Edwards. I would love this montior. We have been looking at it as some friends bought it when they had their second recently and have raved about it. We had a Graco for our first son which we still use at 4.5 for him but we hate it. It’s so loud adn bright in our room. I have seen this in action and we want one as we await baby #2′s arrival!
The Chicco Lullaby Cloud is also a must for the sleeping baby! It lulls them right to sleep!!

  13. I’d love a Motorola MBP36 monitor so I can rest assured I won’t disturb my little bubba and still have the ability to check on her/him. It will also be a blessing for my three and six year old girls to look at instead of “having a little peep”! Which is never a quite peep! The dream baby flexi latchs are great to keep little hands out of the cupboards. : )

  14. To win the baby monitor would be great as with our bubs due in just under 8 weeks it would give us the reassurance that our bubs is safe and be able to keep an eye on our baby at all times. Also we’d consider the powerpoint plugs as another key safety item to have in the home especially when bubs starts to crawl and is inquisitive about all the new things it can find.

  31. I would LOVE to win the Motorola MBP36 Video Monitor because we have creaky floorboards in our house and there is no absolutely such thing as sneaking in my babies room, I’d say it’s almost comparable to walking on a minefield.

I also think the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead and Room Thermometer is a great item, this is the exact thermometer which I use and it’s great to be able to easily get a reading of my sons temperature if need be as well as always knowing what the temperature of his room is.

The paediatric digital thermometer is also a must to make sure our little one is always fit and healthy.

  42. I am a single mum and student and Nathan is my first child who is now three months. I would like the Motorola MBP36 Monitor because having not raised any other kids i always find myself constantly worried when i leave my son in bed as i do my house chores. I always think that he is crying or that something bad has happened to him like chocking or suffocation while he is sleeping. Most times i end up carrying him on my back with a leso. The Monitor would be a great gift to win because i can work and study peacefully while watching him without having to disturb him. Products from the safety category that i consider a must have for me are books like the Confident babycare and the meal planner because i will know how to take care of my son and how to plan his feeding routine when he gets to the sixth month and the childcare baby den to avoid any accidents when he starts crawling.

The Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead & Room Thermometer would be our second must have, who wouldn’t want a quick reading of bubs forehead when unwell & the room temp reader is an added bonus in winter when we don’t want to overheat the child’s room.

  57. I love the temperature display, alert and lullaby playing capabilities of the Motorola MBP36. The cameras tilting ability, distance and low light capabilities makes it a very attractive feature to finish off my nursery. I wasn’t overaly fussed on the baby monitors with the movement pad so this is a great alternative.

My other ‘must have’ safety purchase is the Chicco easy touch plus forehead and room thermometer. Babies dislike getting there temps taken and this makes it simple and quick.

  61. We would love the Motorola monitor as we are expecting our first baby in November and I don’t want to be an anxious mum sneaking in to check all the time! The video option means we can check bubs without disturbing them! We would also love anything else from the safety range as we haven’t done much preparation yet, as first time parents, still working out what we do and don’t need!!!

  62. Our babies safety is our priority and having such a fantastic monitor will put us ease a little knowing we can check bubs without disturbing bubs!! Although worse every cent they cost it’s such a big expense before bubs is due, and would hate to have to buy a cheap version!!

But best of all when I return to work I can check in using the web cam and see my beautiful child sleeping. Another must have safety accessory would be the gate and extensions to ensure my little explorer will not be able to reach the oven or hot plates.

  67. I would love to win this Motorola MBP36 Monitor, as we currently only have one with audio & now little Miss is starting to crawl it would be a good way to keep an eye on her with out disturbing her sleep.

As she sleeps on a floor bed would be nice to know when she wakes & to see if she is happy playing with toys & books or if she wants to come out of her room :)

Other product I love from baby.com.au safety is the Chicco Easy Touch Plus! This would come in real handy right now, as little Miss has a terrible cold with fever & when I check her temp all she wants to do is eat the stick style one we have haha this one makes it looks simple! Plus you can check room temp as well, which is important now its cooling down.

I would love to win this baby monitor as my 7 week old baby girl is growing so very quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised if she outgrows her bassinet very soon and we have to move her into her own room down the other end of the house. This monitor would save a lot of tooing and froing of me checking in on her (and also save our carpet- from all the back and forth walking)!!

If I could choose anything from the safety section of the website I would select a baby gate so she can happily play in a place where the family dogs can’t access!

  91. The baby monitor would improve the quality of sleep for my daughter in law who is a first time Mum..a wonderful one!! Her hubby works long hours so a lot of the care is in her lap. She’s a devoted , caring Mum who could relax a little if she had a monitor to be her wing man.
The safety gates will be a necessary purchase soon as her baby girl grows into an inquisitive toddler.

  95. I have the Motorola baby audio monitor, it was great for my first two babies – great for variations of sounds levels and if you are to far away to hear you can look for see if the light levels are changing (when they detect sound). But my newborn baby girl has such a quite cry and we have had a big scare with her when she stopped breathing – this would put my mind at ease, especially since we can’t afford one :-)

  96. I’d love a video monitor to see when she really needs me after she gets sick and not just when she is squealing in delight playing with teddy. I get the 2 mixed up every time and she won’t go back to laying down if I go in there. I also love the dreambaby gates. After watching my cousin go through years of bandages and pain from burns they are very high on my safety list.

  97. I would love the Motorola MBP36 Monitor so I don’t have to sneak in to the room to check if they are ok, and risk waking up the baby, we can just check the monitor for signs of movement. The Childcare Long Wall Mounted Gate would be great to cordon off the kitchen from inquisitive little hands!

  111. I would love this for my new baby due in sep. With my first I did not have a monitor with a cam so I was constantly going in too check on him. This would be so much easier as I wouldbt be getting out of bed every half an hpur.
I also think the thermometer is a very essential item as children get sick very easily
One in the nappy bag is handy so you can chexk them at any stage whther home or not

  112. I would love this monitor, as my 6 month is moving around a lot in his cot now, and keeps flipping himself into awkward positions (e.g. curled up in the corner!). It would be great to be able to check on him without disturbing him. I also think the Chicco Easy Touch Thermometer is a necessity.

I also love the chicco thermometer in the safety section of the babyology website

I would love to win a Motorola monitor for my impending arrival as it would provide me with such peace of mind & help with some of the post natal depression issues & fears I had with my 1st bub. I wouldn’t be forever staying awake & watching over bub, I could get some sleep & know that he or she was safely monitored & I would be alerted if I was needed.

Chicco thermometers – again for peace of mind and ease.

  124. Whilst we want to have our baby with us in the bedroom I’m fearful this won’t be possible due to my partners heavy snoring. Having a video monitor would definitely put my first time mum-mind at ease. I believe blogger Oh Joy (or more accurately her husband) rated the Motorola video monitor and it’s been on my radar since reading her Baby Essentials post (great read for first time mummies).

As for another product from the safety range I’m instantly drawn to the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead & Room Thermometer – having a winter bub I’m quite concerned about ensuring the temperature is comfortable. These two together would be the perfect pair!

Our existing Motorola video monitor was seriously the best invention ever nothing helps a mothers sleep better at night and puts worry at ease, sadly it did not last the test of time and failed on us 8 months ago. We have not been able to replace it since, I get up at least 6 times a night to check on my boy who gave us a terrible fright one night having a convulsion while asleep. I can not speak highly enough of these video montitor and would love to try out the new one and finally get a good night rest. Lisa M Vic

This means that he is often in his room sleeping while we are in another room. It would give me complete peace of mind.
I would also consider buying the My Touch Themometer, as it is suitable for babies of all ages, unlike the one I was misled into buying that is not suitable until my bub is 6 months…only 4 months until I can actually use it!

We have been hunting around for a budget baby monitor (amazing how a mortgage changes your spending trends haha) and they’re all very basic! The Motorolla would be PERFECT! No unnecessary interruptions to bubs and the lullaby feature means we don’t have to “steal” the “music machine” from our 2yr olds room!! Pure peace of mind all round! Products like this as well as the Chicco No Touch Forehead and Room Temperature Thermometer are what makes Motherhood just that little bit easier:)

All parents worry when it comes to children but I could imagine myself being a huge worry wart due to what we have been through to be parents and to metion the money we have spent on ivf. It would be amazing to win something we would not be able to afford. I would also love a safety gate so we can open the door and our child could admire the outside world and our pets without tumbling down stairs. Fingers crossed I win :)

I think the safety cabinet locks are a must have especially if you have a tiny terror like mine who gets into everything.

  209. Amanda Faithfull (WA) I have been through many baby monitors throughout my time and i have found that the monitor/sound ones are the best, especially when having a new born. The problem is with all the competitors, the monitors are always stationary. Of course, when they are little, this isnt such of a problem, but as they get older and start doing bog laps around the cot at night, its hard to track them. The BEST thing about the MBP36 is that you can move the camera, you can pan, tilt and zoom. Right up the shnoz.
Another product that is really handy and is duel use is the Chicco Easy Touch Thermometer. A baby with a fever is one of the most scariest things to go through being a parent and being able to effectively check their temp. via the forehead is very easy! But.. you can also use the thermometer as a general room thermometer so you can use it all the time and get your money’s worth. Its a got-to-have!

To me it’s all about making things as easy as possible for mums, & this monitor is all about convenience. With a growing family there’s no time for random checks & walking in & out of bedrooms, it’s about convenience of simply looking down at a monitor & knowing you don’t need to leave 2 other little ones every 5 mins to check on new baby. I’m feeling less stressed already just thinking about it.

  267. I would love this prize Monitor. You should not put a monetary price oon this because you can’t put one on the life of your child. Our little one moves about a lot especially in the warmer weather. We suspect he may move away from the hot spot on his mattress where he has laid. I have checked it out. I have found him the opposite end of his cot, his head in a corner, or across it. Fortunately he is in a foldaway cot so he can’t poke anything through the rungs as he somehow managed to do in a regulation standard cot. Even in the cold weather he does this. He also has a habit of kicking off his blanket or quilt before going to sleep. I then have to go back in after he is sound asleep to check whether or not he has to be covered up again, and later on too. He sometimes wakes up and has to be re-settled. We will be able to check whether or not he is at a strange angle. At present we are toilet training so when we get past the night only nappies stage he will be transferred to a bed so he can take himself to the toilet. We will be able to check if he is in bed or whether we need to go and look for him.
I would also like to get a Chicco My Touch Contact Forehead Thermometer as it only takes 5 seconds to give you an accurate reading. Some take nearer to 60 seconds, during which time he has got restless and starts wriggling around. If your baby is on his stomach as some insist in doing, another “comfortable” place according to medical professionals in the hospital you can place the thermometer on their back just below their neck I have witnessed being done.
I believe safety gates should be compulsory in 2 storey homes or where a section is split level.

Our first baby is due later this year. My husband works in IT and loves researching/buying all the latest gadgets. However this baby monitor is one we both agree would make a great addition to our home. It would provide us with peace of mind especially as first time parents and will also help us to avoid the constant ‘I’ll just open the door to check’ moments. The other product that would be great to have is the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead and Room Thermometer.

  272. Our first baby is due on 4 July, and we have not yet ticked ‘baby monitor’ off our list. We would really love to have the Motorola MBP36 so we have the added peace of mind of the video aspect. Also, our house has some pretty creaky old floorboards, so it would be great to be able to check in on our baby without worrying about waking her up. The other essential in the safety range which we are yet to pick up is a thermometer, and the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead & Room Thermometer looks ideal, measuring both baby’s temperature and the ambient room temperature in quick easy steps.

  300. I would love the Motorola MBP36 Video Baby Monitor. My bub always catches me checking on her and then its all over. It would also be great to see what she is doing in her cot if she crying (is she standing or still lying down)and if she looks as though she will go back to sleep. I think the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead & Room Thermometer is also a must have. At the moment we have a regular ear thermometer and since bub started day care (and bringing bugs home) I have realised how useful these would be, less invasive as the ear thermometer would allow parents to check bubs temp while they are sleeping without disturbing them. and it doubles as a room thermometer. Perfect!

  301. This monitor will help me with unnecessary walks to the nursery to check on baby as I have very bad lower back pains! Dreambaby Automatic Sensor Night Light is also a handy product to have as no more fumbles in the dark during night feeds! Having these two products will help make my life more efficient and gives me the peace of mind I need as a parent.

I would love the monitor as checking on what my cheeky child is doing without disturbing her would add piece of mind, not to mention giving me the chance to stay in my warm bed on cold winter nights! Another essential item to me is safety gates, in a house with stairs they allow me to rest easy when we are playing

  306. Winning a Motorola MBP36 Monitor would be such a wonderful blessing! I would use it so often! I am always running to check on our baby, and if I have to hang up washing, sometimes run up our backyard and stairs two times just at the thought she could be crying, and there she is sound asleep while I am exhausted! I have two more tiny kids to keep busy as well so this would allow me to do more fun activities with them like playing in our yard or riding bikes without worrying about our tiny baby crying on her own.

It would be so fantastic to also have a few packs of the Safety Outlet Plugs. These are a 100% MUST have, no baby should be in a house with access to power-points uncovered!

Chicco My Touch Contact Forehead Thermometer, what an amazing idea, the traditional method of taking bubs temperature is a bit dodgy for me, never seems to work properly.
    thanks

  317. I’d love a Motorola MBP36 Monitor as our current one has died and I’m in desperate need of a new one. Night vision and temperature sensor are two must have requirements but this model can do so much more! My last one had a stationary camera but this one can pan, tilt and zoom which will be a very handy feature, plus the option of an additional camera makes it even more versatile for when we have our second child.
Another must have for us was the Childcare extra tall safety gate as it keeps our daughter out of the kitchen and therefore safely away from the oven.

I would like the Motorola MBP36 video monitor because I’d love to be able to peek in on my little one to work out if she’s just grizzling and transitioning to another sleep cycle or wide awake! It looks like it has crystal clear picture and the two way communication will mean I could soothe her with my voice without going into her room.

I’d also love the Chicco lullaby cloud to help soothe her to sleep and to encourage her to enjoy music

The Chico my touch thermometer would be perfect for us at the moment as I am constantly having to measure my sons temperature due to recurring ear infections and this would be so much less intrusive and even incorporated into a hug when this is what he really needs. The monitor would be a godsend too as it would allow us to check up on our sick baby without disturbing him.

I also like the digital baby scales, which I’d always regretted not buying earlier for my first bub. Just to be able to weigh him every so often and see his progress would be so very handy.

  330. We would love a “Motorola MBP36 Baby Monitor” and breathe a sigh of relief every time we saw his video clip.
We could listen plus zoom in and sing to him.
Our baby would be kept safe in our sight.
We could watch him day or night, playing or with eyes closed tight.
We could sleep, then wake and watch him near, kept safe to see our little dear.

At “Baby.com.au” a “Dreambaby Non Slip Bath Suction Mat” is a big must too. In the bath our bubs would sit, this will surely stop his slip, under the bubbles he wouldn’t flip.
So safe in the bath we’d have time to laugh.

It has provided me with peace of mind, know that my little girl is safe and sound in her cot and I would love the same piece of mind for my sister when her baby arrives. Another safety product that has become an essential for me is a safety gate. We live in a 2 story house with the stairs close to the lounge room and it would only take a few seconds of inattention for my little girl to crawl off and injure herself by falling down the stairs.

Secondly, the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead & Room Thermometer. I love this non-invasive way to check bubs temperature and the versatility that it can be used for ambient temperature also. Once bub is sick with a fever, you realise very quickly that an accurate, easy to use and non-invasive thermometer is your best friend. And quite frankly, we can’t be without it!

Then as soon as she starts to crawl around we will definately have to baby proof the house with those handy corner cusions from baby.com.au!!!

  408. I would be so grateful to win this competition as our baby is due in 4 weeks and we are yet to buy a monitor. If we were to win this we could put the money we were to buy with it towards other essential baby needs. I also love the Chicco Easy Touch Plus Forehead & Room Thermometer. Will have to purchase that one!

  409. The Motorola MBP36 baby monitor will be extremely helpful for me once I have my first child. I am feeling nervous about her being safe and secure and this product will be perfect for me to keep my eye on her. Also, the childcare long wall mounted gate will become very helpful when she is able to move around the house, I can block her from the tiled areas in my house.

  410. I would love to win this baby monitor! I am 40 weeks+2 days with my first baby, and looking to get back in shape as soon as I can after delivery. I would love to be able to step on my back patio & jump rope while keeping an eye on little man while he sleeps in our bedroom. We just moved to a new area and are still working to make ends meet, anything we can receive for free would be so courteous and wonderful!

  411. I love how the camera can rotate via the monitor so I can see where my toddler has wiggled to during the night. The baby safety gates are another must have as they fence off dangerous areas such as kitchen and stairs for my toddler

  412. We are almost ready to transition our little girl from bassinette to cot, and winning this motorola video monitor would do absolute wonders for my anxiety and stress levels!!! I love the idea of being able to check the monitor, rather than creeping into her room and trying not to wake her. Unfortunately a monitor of this quality is not within our very tight budget so I am crossing my fingers and toes that I win :)

The other safety product that i consider essential is the Chicco Infrared Thermometer. Being able to quickly and accurately check bubs temp when she feels like she is burning up is very important to me.

  413. I have a 5 yr old 19 mth old and 7 mth old all in one room this would be great so I don’t wake the other 2 with the light on

The safety essential?? Old school electrical plug covers.

Would LOVE this ;). I also think the great range of room / bath and temperature monitors are a necessity. This is a great site for all bubs safety needs!

  420. I would love to win this great monitor ahead of having our 2nd baby later in the year. Having had an audio only monitor with our son, I can now see the value in having a monitor that allows you to see your precious bub as well. I love the look of Baby.com’s ‘Chicco easy touch plus forehead and room thermometer’. Our son has had a couple of febrile convulsions, making my husband and I obsessed with the temp of our toddler and his room.

  421. With first bub on the way, I’d love a monitor with a screen so I can watch and learn when to comfort my baby. The Motorola video monitor will no doubt help relieve some of my nerves about sleep time :-)

  424. Rowena Grace. I really need a digital video monitor for my little girl. We were given a second hand monitor which recently stopped working, and we now realise how much we rely on having a monitor. To be able to see my daughter without going into the room would just be fantastic and give us some much needed peace of mind. Another must have item I would love is the Chicco My Touch Contact Forehead Thermometer, something I will be purchasing when the finances allow :-)

This amazing baby monitor will give me to confidence to calmly LIVE, and even venture out back for gardening which would be a dream come true. I just want to make sure my bubba is safe and happy and this amazing baby monitor is my ticket to peace of mind.
Please pick me Babyology and baby.com.au!

The other item I would think an essential is the Childcare Play den – safe, secure and perfect for home and away!

  429. As my 3 1/2 and 11 month old share a room it would be fantastic to keep an eye on them and see what mischief they are up to when i hear giggle time instead of sleep time. The moments you wish you were a fly on the wall. :)

  430. I have a 10 week old & every time I go check on him my toddler also runs into the room screaming & at times wakes up my bub. So this would be ideal to keep an eye on him. I also love the safety gates!

  431. I would love this monitor as I’m preparing myself mentally to let my baby girl, Zoe, start sleeping in her own room. She is 4 months old now and I’m sure a monitor would make this transition much easier (especially for mommy ;-).
I also must have the gates for the doors. Time is just flying by and there is no way that I will be able to childproof everything in this house! So the gates will be a must!

  432. This monitor is exactly what we need for our 14 months old boy and our future baby to come in October! We are looking to buy it, but winning it would allow us to buy something else with this money… such as a double stroller for exemple! Thank you!

I’d love the Motorola MBP36 Monitor to remain rest assured that my soon to be born second child is sleeping soundly but also to keep an eye on my toddler daughter to make sure she’s not trying to be tricky with her soon to be brother. I’d consider the Lindam Sure Shut Orto Safety Gate a must have. I never thought I’d need baby gates in my house but I now have 3! My daughter is a climber and a baby gate is now thankfully stopping her getting into mischief or from harm in the kitchen.

  436. Where do I start?! After 6 year of trying to conceive we found out we were pregnant (October last year). It was an amazing surprise and one really needed as only 3 weeks beforehand my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Sadly she passed away in February without meeting her first grandchild. Our little boy is due on June 18th but because of medical problems we’re being induced early. I’m so scared of losing him before and after birth after losing my mum. This monitor would give me so much peace of mind knowing at all times I can just look at the screen and see his little face. He’s our little miracle!

  437. Kimberly McKinnon. To save me getting up and down constantly to check on baby and be able to rest easy while baby rests. I think the outlet safety plugs are a must have since so many power points are low down near where baby’s play and crawl.

  438. Vanessa Elland – I would love to win the Motorola monitor with its large screen and ability to work well in low light it would b great to watch baby sleep on it…instead of going into his room & having it wake him. The Childcare play den is also a great product as it’s big enough that Bubs doesn’t feel trapped but keeps them safely secure so that housework can be done :)

And some zzzzs for mum and dad be found.
But if bubs should wake or stir,
    Longing for some loving care,
Crying, bubs doesn’t have to lie,
For on my baby monitor I can rely.
Motorola would make life a breeze,
And a movement monitor, my worries would ease.

  511. I would love this for my baby due in September. I had purchesed one like this from eBay sadly it turned out to be a scam and I have no way of getting my more back and money to tight to buy another.

  513. Wow so many great entries already. My wife and I are in the middle of our ivf cycle. Money is tight even with private health. We have had our eye on this for a while as it’s the best we have seen. We have just been waiting to save up the funds. Wining this would cross one more thing off our very long first time mums to be list. X

  514. Camille McDermott – Wow so many great entries already. My wife and I are in the middle of our ivf cycle. Money is tight even with private health. We have had our eye on this for a while as it’s the best we have seen. We have just been waiting to save up the funds. Wining this would cross one more thing off our very long first time mums to be shopping list. There are so many other safety products I would love – one of the most simple and the most important are the cabinet locks. Keeping little hands away from dangerous products.

  515. Would love a motorola MBP36

  516. Helen Fricker,
I’d love the monitor as I’m expecting twins and having a video monitor would mean not having to disturb 2 babies and taking that added stress out of the equation!!
The Chicco easy touch plus forehead & room thermometer would be a god send and much easier than those ear or under arm ones!!!

  517. For peace of mind at night having a video monitor to be able to see my cheeky monkey would be fabulous! We can’t leave without our dream baby cabinet sliding lock, true life saver.

I need this monitor because I have 2 cheap second hand monitors & its so frustrating having 2 hand helds! Plus I would love the Childcare Play Den as my little one is on the move now!

  519. I love the ability to have a great view of my babies when they’re sleeping and this great model ticks all the boxes.
I’d also be very very interested in the Save Our Sleep Toddler book as my 2.5 yr old is rather tricky with her sleeping at the moment.

  522. This baby monitor has a state of the art design that looks elegant yet functional unlike others in the market. The wide screen and lullaby function is a big plus. There is no other baby monitor that has all these function that works so well. I’ve also been looking at getting the Chicco infrared thermometer as we all know that it is never easy keeping a bubba still to take their temperature especially when they are sick. The thermometer is hygienic and give a highly accurate temperature. Both products will give us the parents a great peace of mind knowing that our kids are well taken care of by these quality product with great design.

Mbp36 would give me piece of mind to love that my baby’s safe while sleeping

  524. This would be perfect for my two older children to “check” in the baby without accidentally waking it up.

  525. My sweetie is a cheeky one. Unfortunately our current sound only monitor just doesn’t let us know the mischief she gets into- because she’s a silent mischief maker. Not only would this video allow us to keep an eye on our sweetie’s safety, but it would also allow us a glimpse of exactly just what she gets up too when she’s “supposed” to be going to bed.
I’d also love a childcare extra tall pressure mount gate. Our elderly red heeler is very concerned when it comes to the latest addition to our family, and sometimes it just doesn’t work when she comes bounding into the lounge room when the baby so much as squeaks to see if she’s okay!

  526. James Rock. The other product we would be interested in is the Chicco thermometer.
