Remember the old days when you couldn’t wait to pick up the roll of film you were having developed? You’d open the envelope, quickly flick through the photos and then show the results to family and friends. Inevitably they would say “I have to get copies!”. Fast forward ten years and everyone is using their mobile phones for snaps on the go. The results are instant – and inevitably people say “Great shot! Can you email it to me?” Not anymore.
Get straight onto Flock. Flock is a new iPhone app that finds the photos you take with friends and family and magically brings all the photos from each person’s phone together into a single shared album.
It works simply – take your photos as you would normally. Flock automatically knows who you’re friends with (this is done via Facebook) and finds anyone with the same camera metadata (location, time) as yours. It then automatically creates a shared photo album of everyone’s pictures (although you do have complete control over which photos you want to contribute to the album).
How is Flock different from other photo-sharing apps? The key difference is that Flock doesn’t require you to use the camera built into the application. In fact, Flock works with any camera app – so Hipstamatic fans can breathe easy! Now, think how much the grandparents would like instantaneous access to the hundreds of happy snaps you’re taking of the kids?!
Flock is free and is available via iTunes.
