The new Foxtel Kids app has launched just in time for the summer holidays and everyone here at Babyology is just a little bit excited.
It provides a safe portal to all of our little ones’ favourite programs, on-demand anytime while allowing parents to maintain fully in control.
Designed and developed in Australia, this app could be the boredom buster we are all looking for to save our sanity when the Christmas cheer begins to wane.
Foxtel’s Managing Director of Content Aggregation and Wholesale Deanne Weir says the launch was perfectly timed ahead of Christmas.
“We’re delighted to bring our new Foxtel Kids app to Australian kids and families,” she says.
“After taking on board some great customer feedback coupled with our own research, we’ve designed what we think is the best app to keep kids entertained and parents informed.
Here’s the seven best things we have discovered about the new Foxtel Kids app.
All the favourites are there and we don’t just mean the shows that our kids want to watch, but the shows we are also happy for them to watch.
From Nick Jnr’s Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Dora The Explorer, and Blaze and the Monster Machines to Disney Junior’s Miles From Tomorrowland and Doc McStuffins.
CBeebies also offers up household favourites such as Go Jetters and Hey Duggee and there is so much more at hand.
The long list of episodes and channels that are just a click away may even help stop the same old ones being put on an endless loop.
2. Parental control
Many apps may claim to give parents complete control but we know how clever our kids can be.
As well as being pin protected, the app comes with many control features including a timer, channel filter, classification filter and age filter.
Another great feature is parents aren’t locked in to whatever settings are chosen when they first access the app because it is so easy for parents to revisit settings and make changes.
3. Age appropriate and Ad-free
From the first moment parents access the app, they are given the choice between streaming and downloading shows for little kids aged five and under, big kids aged five and up or all kids. And every episode comes completely free from any pesky advertisements.
4. Great timing
The apps arrival right before Christmas is a special kind of genius because what parent isn’t going to welcome a safe way to entertain their kids while they complete their Christmas preparations? And the timer setting makes it easy to keep tabs on and control the amount of screen time we allow our little ones to have.
5. Save our sanity
Holiday boredom busters are in high demand at this time of year and this app fits the bill just nicely. After busy days at the beach, braving the before and after Christmas shopping rushes and hosting an endless guest list of visitors, we have to find ways to secure a little down time and that’s where an app like this comes in.
6. Off-line viewing
The new app also features the ability for off-line viewing of downloaded content for up to 31 days, which is ideal for long drives, flights or holidays spent away from internet connections.
7. Easy to get started and use
Once you have a Foxtel Play account you can then download the Kids App from the App Store and start watching. And the kid-friendly design makes it easy for children to navigate within the parental controls set. More information is available at: foxtel.com.au/kidsapp.
