A book app that narrates with an Australian accent and showcases the most exquisite artwork is most definitely worth a mention – come check out Mademoiselle Daisy’s New Friends and introduce your children to a lovely little story.

Author Amelie Sam collaborated with artist Matt Roussel, evoking imagery of The Belle Epoque. Set in France, Mademoiselle Daisy sets out to make new friends in her new neighbourhood. While at first managing to annoy people, she soon works out a way to endear herself to the tight-knit community.

Children can have the story read to them and readers can follow the words or read it independently. There are two short games (a jigsaw puzzle and memory game) and a choice of English or French – perfect for those bilingual youngsters.

The text is enhanced for the new iPad Retina display, giving you the crispest, clearest images possible. This app is created by Square Igloo, the same group who brought to life Scott’s Submarine – another delightful app we told you about in August last year.

Mademoiselle Daisy’s New Friends is $3.99 through the iTunes App Store and is suitable for both iPad and iPhone.
