In a household of four males our toilet seat is ‘up’ much of the time and quite honestly it doesn’t bother me. But the ‘up/down’ debate clearly caused some issues in the household of the designer of the LavNav.
The LavNav is a motion sensitive toilet night light designed specifically to indicate whether the seat is up or down. An infrared motion sensor detects when you are approaching in the dark and illuminates the toilet in colour-coded light – red if the seat is up and green if it is down.
It certainly may put an end to middle-of-the-night toilet seat arguments but the LavNav’s motion sensor is also very useful for when children have to use the toilet in the dark. A good concept too for those newly toilet-trained little ones who need help navigating their way to the toilet during the night.
Personally I’ll be avoiding a LavNav – I think my kids would enjoy the coloured lights too much and would turn the bathroom into a disco – not what I need at 2am.
The LavNav is US$21.95 and is available from Convenient Gadgets and Gifts, who ship to Australia via a freight forwarder.
