I clearly remember getting my first desk – I was nine years old and finally having my very own ‘creative space’ was thrilling.
With school back and the need for desks calling, we’ve rounded up a few favourites from previous posts.
First up is the stunning Geos desk and Lills chair set by We Do Wood. It’s perfectly sized for little kids and comes in a choice of black, red or blue trims. The set of a desk and two chairs is exclusive in Australia to Square Peg and costs $620.

Lilly & Lolly have a good range of desks suitable for children’s rooms but our very favourite is the Colourbox Desk with its gorgeous continuous legs. The simple, modern design will suit well into teenage years and beyond. It’s available in all white, all Tasmanian Oak, or a combination of Tasmanian Oak and satin white painted drawers. Similar in style is Lilly & Lolly’s Scoop desk (shown below) – the square legs give it a very appealing mid-century look. Both desks are priced from $920.

If you’re short on space, it needn’t mean that your kids are without a desk. The Klick desk by P’kolino is perfectly sized for three to seven-year-olds and is both practical and fun. Kids will like the under-the-seat storage shelf and drawer for all their works in progress and adults will like the fact that the desk packs away into a simple, neat cube. The Klick desk is available in three colours – green, orange and red – and costs US$198. The desk is available from Uncommon Goods who ship internationally.

Lastly, for a desk that will really go the distance, the Moll Ergonomic Adjustable Starter Desk looks good and is extremely practical. With adjustable height and incline settings it’s perfect for drawing and writing on or for setting up the computer. Moll desks are priced from $690 and are available in Australia at The Little Kidz Closet.
