Solve a storage problem with a giant Rubik’s Cube

For the ultimate eighties decorating reference, how about a set of Rubik’s Cube drawers?

I never solved a Rubik’s Cube. I do recall my brother and I trying to peel the stickers off – we figured a quick repositioning would surely put an end to the puzzle, albeit cheating! Clearly, Instructables member Makendo tried the same trick – his Rubik’s Cube drawers have repositionable coloured tiles (secured with concealed magnets) so that you can ‘solve’ the puzzle quickly!

Makendo shares the instructions for making your own Rubik’s Cube drawers on Instructables. Perhaps the neatest feature of his design is the use of rotating ‘lazy Susans’ so that the drawers can be twisted around. As there are no handles, the real trick is in finding where they open!

Be sure to also check out Makendo’s nifty Lego table.
