Saturday morning in our house is always a pancake breakfast. The pancakes are of varying quality (my husband is much more accomplished pancake flipper than I am) but the kids don’t care. They would love every day to be “pancake day”, and perhaps these enormous floor pillows are the solution.
Following in Babyology’s fine tradition of reporting on furniture that looks like food (previously, the hamburger bed, the chocolate block bed and the sweetcorn pillow), come these buttered pancake floor cushions. With a diameter of almost almost ninety-two centimetres, a stack of pancakes like this is big enough to get comfortable on. They were created as part of an art show in Las Vegas as a collaboration between artists Todd von Bastiaans and Bryan McCarthy, and are made from upholstered memory foam.
They’re a bit pricier than a breakfast out. Depending on the size of your stack, they will set you back anywhere upwards of US$600. You’ll be pleased to know that if you order three or more pancakes, the pats of butter are free. Pick them up at Unica Home where they are (excuse the pun) selling like hotcakes.
