If co-sleeping isn’t quite your thing but having baby nearby is a must, consider these hanging bassinets from Knoppa.
Hang it above your bed so you can gently rock baby back to sleep in the wee hours without leaving your snug spot.
This bassinet is the antidote to stumbling around a dark room in search of baby.
The ability to hang it anywhere as well as store it flat, has real
space-saving appeal, especially to those living in cosy inner-city
pads.
Take it outside with you so baby can nap within earshot and you can
enjoy some fresh air or tackle the gardening.
Folded flat the Knoppa won’t take up much room in your car, and
weighs a mere 2kgs, making it an ideal option for a travel cot.
A stylish home and holiday bed with the option of either red or brown
floral canvas, the design will compliment a range of decors.
It comes complete with mattress and hanging mechanism.
Available from Tiny Dodo for 179Ä and ships to Australia.

Looks like they might have closed down since this was written Sept 2007. It was a lovely store, what a pity! Try and email Knoppa direct and ask whoelse ships to Australia info@knoppa.se Let us know how you go, it’s a stunning bassinet.
Reply from Knoppa:

Thanks Jenni for getting back to us on that. Sounds like it’s workable at that price. Are you ordering one?
Price seems fine, I think it is pretty light weight and compact once all packed up.
I haven’t decided if I will buy one yet. I am only in my first trimester and also very much like to see products before I know if I love them or not!
Going to look into the hushamok (which can be bought locally) as well.
