If you're in the market for a new floor rug, be it for your lounge room or play room, you might consider making it a Bholu rug. I'm positive adults and children alike will love the simple, charming designs that Bholu presents. We'd like to introduce you to Mavis the Monkey, Marjorie the Duck and Quinton the Giraffe.
Bholu is a socially-minded company whose latest release of rugs are designed using drawings from less fortunate children living in slum communities. Each Bholu rug is handmade by a team of talented Indian women using traditional techniques. With the sale of each rug, part proceeds go to these women and their communities, and also help fund educational facilities and programs for underprivileged children. Jodie Fried, the founder and designer of Bholu, just won the Telstra NSW Business Award for Social Responsibility - well done Jodie!
The rugs pictured measure 1.4m x 2m and are made from 100 percent New Zealand felted wool - so they're hard wearing (perfect for kids). Available Australia wide, check out the Bholu website for a stockist near you.
