The Cozy Leander Cradle

Furniture

This beautiful cradle isn't new but worth mentioning for those parents who are not aware of its existence or onto second round and want to update the nursery.

The Leander Cradle from Denmark is certainly one of the more stylish items you could put in your nursery.  With its all-natural, gently swaying, snug cradle and gossamer fabric canopy, it will help baby sleep like an angel. The cradle can be suspended from either a ceiling hook or tripod stand (seems a little more secure to me but also costs more). The bassinet and bedding are made from 100% organic cotton and are asthma and allergy free.

Leander also makes this groovy cot that, typical of Danish design multi-functionality, converts from a crib to a toddler bed.

The Leander Cradle is available from Bebe for $329.95 and the Cot is $1499.95.

See more details on the Leander Cot in the Babyology Product Chooser.

There is a Leander High Chair being released in October this year and we will update you on details once we hear something.

Pure and Simple Furniture by Sirch

Sirch are well known for creating beautifully simple toy designs, but this gorgeous high chair and cot shows off the company's talent when it comes to furniture.

There's something so pleasing about the way they've taken nursery basics and turned them into items which are incredibly beautiful and design conscious without being pretentious.

There's no doubting the cot is a cot; but it's so gorgeous, it's almost a work of art. And like all Sirch products both of these are intensely practical. The cot turns into a toddler bed and has handles and wheels (which can be removed to turn it into a rocking crib) while the high chair turns into a toddler chair and then normal chair.

The Suiko baby Bed is 779€ available from Design 3000
The Sirch High Chair is 470€ available from Kinderlampe

New Bunk Bed Design just released from Argington

Argington has just released photos of a new bunk bed design called Uffizi, which will be a new addition to their range of children's furniture

I love the design, its unique and the dark walnut and white will be a good match in any children's room. Its an architectural design piece with its dark walnut stain against the white, the staggered levels that break the usual straight stack, and the framed "windows" in the lower bunk.

Uffizi Children's Bunk Bed Set is due for a September delivery, pre-orders will be taken at Modern Tots' website from mid-May. Suggested retail price is US$1850. You will need a re-shipper for Australia, but this is worth it.

If you want a bright coloured, funky looking chair for your children, invest in a few of these Panton Junior Chairs, designed by Verner Panton. The adult version was released 35 years ago and now finally the Junion version is around which is identical, only 25 percent smaller.

It’s the perfect size for pre-school to primary school ages. Its hard to chose a favourite colour but I would have to go for lime or orange to brighten up any children’s room.

Available from Genius Jones for US$115 and they ship to Australia.

Laphoeff Design

Wouldn't you love to create a playroom for your child, and then fold it away at the end of the day. That's the idea behind Cubo, created by Dutch design and furniture makers Laphoeff Design.

The Cubo can contain many play items - open it up to reveal the reading, playing, napping nook, the desk area and storage area.  Cubo's exterior is covered in chalkboard paint, giving kids another way to enjoy Cubo.
Close it back up to instantly hide the mess. Perfect for those unexpected pop-in's!

Contact Laphoeff to commission a piece. Cubo costs about €500 (without any accessories).
