Argington has just released photos of a new bunk bed design called Uffizi, which will be a new addition to their range of children's furniture
I love the design, its unique and the dark walnut and white will be a good match in any children's room. Its an architectural design piece with its dark walnut stain against the white, the staggered levels that break the usual straight stack, and the framed "windows" in the lower bunk.
Uffizi Children's Bunk Bed Set is due for a September delivery, pre-orders will be taken at Modern Tots' website from mid-May. Suggested retail price is US$1850. You will need a re-shipper for Australia, but this is worth it.
If you want a bright coloured, funky looking chair for your children, invest in a few of these Panton Junior Chairs, designed by Verner Panton. The adult version was released 35 years ago and now finally the Junion version is around which is identical, only 25 percent smaller.
It’s the perfect size for pre-school to primary school ages.
Its hard to chose a favourite colour but I would have to go for lime or orange to brighten up any children’s room.
Available from Genius Jones for US$115 and they ship to Australia.
Wouldn't you love to create a playroom for your child, and then fold it away at the end of the day. That's the idea behind Cubo, created by Dutch design and furniture makers Laphoeff Design.
The Cubo can contain many play items - open it up to reveal the
reading, playing, napping nook, the desk area and storage area. Cubo's
exterior is covered in chalkboard paint, giving kids another way to
enjoy Cubo.
Close it back up to instantly hide the mess. Perfect for those unexpected pop-in's!
Contact Laphoeff to commission a piece. Cubo costs about €500 (without any accessories).
When my baby was tiny, in the wee hours of the night, her father would come up with increasingly outlandish designs for baby products that would make our lives easier. Of course we never got round to actually creating them, but I'm pretty sure The Intellicot by Cencio would have fitted into the range pretty well!
This super-futuristic looking and high tec cot will appeal to all fans of gadgets and gizmos. It's got all sorts of brilliant features like a built in video camera and audio monitor; automatic rocking; a built in lifting system and air circulation feature.
Unusually, it has a perspex front instead of the usual bars.
It's no surprise to learn the creators are men, but we have to hand it to them - they seem to have thought of everything.
Go to the Intellicot website for price and pre-ordering information. its due to go on sale later this year.
This is certainly an ingenious idea for multiple babies, the Double Decker Twin Cot.
If you are tight on space and have more than one child, this set of bunk beds for babies is a great idea, but who'd want to be the baby on the bottom? The little mite would certainly be cosy.
Currently available from cribs.com for US$650, the Twin Cot can be shipped to Australia.
