Mutsy comes inside!

Mimicking the shape of the Mutsy prams, the Easygrow is an industrial beauty of a chair and a fantastic investment, lasting children from babyhood, right up to 12 years.  Parents don't want to pay large amounts of money for something that will only last until toddlerhood, when the adult chairs are still too big, yet the highchair too small.

Mutsy is providing an alternative to the more earthy-looking wooden highchairs produced by other leading brands. For those of us still loving our stainless steel appliances and large industrial spaces made into living quarters, the Easygrow is just what we want stylistically, as well as practically. Smaller babies, starting out in their first chair will be as snug as a bug when it is fitted with the 'flexible seat reducer'.

The Easygrow already comes with the footrest, tray and bumper bar, so only one optional extra is great on the hip pocket. Choose from pleasing neutral colours in a selection of opaques and solids. There's also orange and green for those wanting a brighter look.

Take a look also, at the portable booster for children up to age 4. The Grow Up Booster Chair sports spaceage looks, and weighing only 1.5kg, can easily be transported around. It's refreshing to see such a good looking booster! Available in aqua, mandarin, apple, raspberry, blueberry and nut.

If you're wanting this now, look to UK retailers. TGA Baby will have more information on release in Australia in July which is fine for those currently gestating or with brand new family additions. Now you can experience Mutsy quality both out and about and inside the home!

Seed Organic Cradle - baby's second womb

No-one ever forgets their child's first cradle. There's something pure and gentle about a newborn's first bed, the site of much baby gazing, disbelief that this beautiful child is yours, as well as the settling and soothing in the wee hours. Chances are you'll spend hours perched beside baby's bed, so why not make it one that's easy on the eyes, eco-friendly, free of pesticides and other toxins, as well as the ultimate in comfort for your baby? The Seed Organic Cradle provides baby with a peaceful sleeping environment, perfect for those first weeks and months when sleeping is the number one priority other than feeding.

The walls of the cradle are made from 100% breathable organic cotton. Being a huge fan of latex pillows and mattresses, I was delighted to find that the mattress of the Seed Cradle is an organic version, filled with breather holes and contouring to the delicate shape of your baby's body. It slips inside a pocket, so no rolling, no slipping, no lumps, just sweetly cushioned and tailored for the littlest one in your house. What is extra remarkable is the cradle base, stamped with holes to maximise the breathable effect of the latex. If you live in an abode like us, with slight damp issues, then you'll also be happy to know that the latex is hypoallergenic and mould-resistant.

Evoking romantic images of medieval infant sleeping vessels, the Seed Cradle is an ideal place for your precious baby to sleep. Pre-order the Seed Organic Cradle from Ecochild for $299.95 with free shipping. Stock is due end of March!

There's a great article in yesterday's New York Times about the difficulty of keeping a modern and minimalist aethetic in a home with the arrival of kids.  New Yorkers are deciding to put their Barcelona chairs and 18th century dining tables in storage while still creating a pleaing space for whole family.

Curvy, organically shaped in fun pop colours, the OZO Bone chair will be a stylish addition to your home decor.  Designed specially for children aged 3 to 7, these multi-function chairs are lightweight enough that your child will have not problems lifting and moving it themselves, to either be a seat, a lounging ottoman or an upright chair.  With a child's imagination, they will no doubt find even more uses.

Designed by Dutch designer, Eric  Wijffelaars it is made of a very high quality foam and covered with a removable skai leather cover, available in 8 great colours.

Why is it called the 'Bone' you ask?  Its shaped takes its inspiration from the shape of the human spine.

Available at Moochiemoo for $295 excluding shipping.
