Pie Pops (otherwise known as pies on a stick)

I think I missed the memo about the fact that all party food had to be on sticks.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the humble party pie with a good squirt of tomato sauce but why be old-fashioned about it? You see, the coolest kids have their pies on sticks. Yes, that’s right, on sticks.

Feast your eyes on the Babycakes Pie Pops maker – it turns out six tiny pies at a time and all you have to do is decide on the filling. It should be noted that the Babycakes Pie Pops maker is a US gadget so the recipes are probably for apple, cherry and blueberry pies – but there’s no reason it couldn’t experiment with an Aussie meat pie.

I don’t think Four’n'Twenty will be rushing to put pies on sticks for easier eating at the footy but who knows, I haven’t always been right when calling a trend.

The Babycakes Pie Pops maker is US$25 – a steal for such a neat party trick. Unfortunately Babycakes does not ship directly to Australia so you would need a freight forwarder if you want Pie Pops at your next party.

  1. I wont be buying anything like that…sticks are dangerous and unnecessary, and that pie looks decidedly unhealthy BTW
