It’s almost a shame to cover these delightful plates with a meal.
Simple, bold and bright, from the exquisite mind of Sweden-based illustrator Ingela P Arrhenius, come these merry plates. Made from child-safe, non-toxic melamine, there’ll be no heart stopping moments if these beauties make a trip to the floor.
We do have somewhat of a soft-spot for the naive style and 50s and 60s-inspired art of Arrhenius, as we’ve previously mentioned. Her latest venture puts her illustrations where they’ll be appreciated every day. But just because they’re works of art, it doesn’t mean they’re precious. The plates are dishwasher safe, and more than twenty centimetres in diametre, so there’s room for a whole host of goodies.
You’re bound to find a design to suit the taste of most children, whether they love jungle animals, clowns or their flight of fancy is birds. I adore the apple – how often do you see a child’s plate with a striking black background?
