Calla Highchair – A Flower come to life

Calla lilies and highchairs. Not much in common at first thought is there? Flowers are delicate and organically formed living things whereas highchairs are robust, strong and made from materials that nature most certainly did not produce. The Calla Chair, designed by Yves Béhar for Fleurville (yes, they make those luscious baby bags as well) combines these two forces into one very stylish highchair.

I love the look and concept of this highchair, which also reminds me of a trumpet horn. It’s not just all looks though, the clever design and durable materials let you know it is ready for the toddler messy food business. It has a host of features including a neoprene fabric seat perfect for comfort and cleanliness, gas release ‘Always On’ braking system, telescopic height adjustable seat, an enamel coated calla flute and an aluminium base for maximum stability.

The highchair will be released for sale soon by Fleurville, although no word yet on price. Sign up on the Calla site to receive notification when it’s available.
