Half Dot Brooklyn began when designer Judy Lee set about creating the perfect winter coat for her own son. The design combined formal style (influenced by her British childhood) with fun and practicality (influenced by her experience as a parent in New York City).

The collection teams sophisticated checked patterns with sumptuously soft flannels to make coats that are as cosy as being wrapped in a blanket. They also feature hoods and lots of pockets for all the bits and pieces that kids like to keep close at hand.

From the tiny tucks in the girls’ swing coats to elbow patches on the boys’ sports coats, the impeccable tailoring and attention to detail certainly makes a Half Dot coat stand out. My favourite coat in the collection is the adorable Oxford Starter Coat featuring faux sleeves – allowing bubs to have hands free to wave to their pals from their Bugaboos as they stroll around Central Park in the fall…
