Special somethings for early arrivals

I recently went shopping for a gift for my friend’s new twins. The twins arrived a little earlier than expected and so needed something small. My shopping mission was to find something for a boy and a girl in size 00000 or smaller.

I was disheartened by the range available in the shops I visited. Most were basic in every sense – colour (all white), design and style. So I jumped online and came across the refreshingly colourful and incredibly practical 25/40 collection from the talented Naomi Terblanche. We have reviewed some of Naomi’s creations before, including the Thula Thula and the NT Vintage collections, however 25/40 has been created especially for premature or small bubs. The collection was inspired by Naomi’s own early arrival, Aiden, who came into the world at 25 weeks.

The 25/40 site has helpful tips on dressing premature babies, for example having tops that open out flat and suits that have openings at the side for lines or tubes – these aren’t necessarily features of regular baby clothing.

The 25/40 collection is beautiful. From the cheerful apples and strawberries IV shirt and the practical NICU suits to the funky car coats, all the pieces are suitable for the special requirements of early arrivals.

The IV shirt is $11, the NICU suits are $12 and the car coats are $26 (note that these prices are Australian dollars – prices quoted on the website are in USD).
