My love affair with See Kai Run began when my daughter was ready for her first pair of “proper” shoes about two years ago. Trouble was, I didn’t like any of the ones we tried in the shops. Some were too tizzy, some were too uncomfortable and the rest were just plain ugly. It got so I thought she’d go barefoot forever. So I actually shouted “hooray” (yes, I did, really) when I came across See Kai Run. And I said it again when I saw their new season’s range this week.
What a range it is! Rebekah, how I adore your two-tone pink flower that twists and dances across the toe of your shoe. Samantha, you’re the perfect classic Mary Jane for winter’s red and black palette. And Sadie. Well, what’s there to say except that every girl needs a red shoe.
Boys have plenty of options too, with the brown and yellow leather Coleman trainers, the preppy Hugh loafer and the way-cool black and grey Justin. Butter-soft leather (you won’t believe how soft it is until you hold one in your hands), flexible hand-stitched soles and generous widths are signature features of See Kai Run shoes for boys and girls. That’s why they’re the only brand of shoes my daughter has worn since the day she learnt to walk.
Alas, this is a bitter-sweet post for me because See Kai Run only come in sizes to fit up to three-year-olds. My daughter hits that mark in a few months so this will be the last year she’ll fit into these shoes. Thank goodness then for bigger kids’ offshoot, Eleven!
Thank goodness too that See Kai Run, a Babyology favourite since the very beginning, have a range for infants that will keep her little brother stylishly shod for a while yet. New season options for Smaller include Harry for boys and Naia and Finia for girls.
When I first discovered See Kai Run, I had to get them shipped from the States. See Kai Run now have an Australian site so you can shop in our own Aussie dollars and shoes take only days rather than weeks to reach your door.
