Playtime Tokyo – fashion gold for babies and children

haveli-designs-butterfly

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of browsing more than two hundred and fifty brands, dedicated to children and maternity, which turned out in a trade show tour de force in Tokyo. The freshest and most fabulous children’s fashion was top of our list when scouring the stands – and all is revealed below.

Playtime Tokyo was a feast for the senses – bursting at the seams with fashion gold for kids. It seems the French always have their finger on the pulse of stunning children’s fashion, with a classic edge. We were blown away by Bleu Comme Gris Paris, which dresses children from six months through to sixteen years old.

While we’re always on the look out for show-stopping, designer children’s clothing, but there’s a lot to be said for good, ol’ fashioned fun and comfy kids’ wear. British label Boys & Girls makes all of its playful and bright clothing from certified organic cotton.

At the other end of the spectrum was Chinche (above) – a Barcelona-based brand with a rocker edge and plenty of spunk.

It’s always great to see some locals going great guns on the international scene, so here’s a shout out to the amazing Haveli Design. The brand (pictured above and at top of post), which we’ve previously featured on Babyology, had some gorgeous wares on show.

British brand Organics For Kids, recently rebranded as Pigeon Organics, has been around for some time and is really hitting its straps in the now very crowded market of organic baby and children’s clothing. The designs are always beautiful and if you’re an animal lover, you’ll adore them.

Classic clothes with quirky twist from Stockholm-based (and beautifully-named) How To Kiss A Frog were right on the money for the Tokyo crowd. We hope you’ve loved our coverage of the Playtime trade shows – if you missed our previous posts, click through to see what we found at Paris and New York.

Anita Butterworth

Anita lives in country Victoria and devotes her time to two beautiful, boisterous boys, writing for Babyology, working as a television journalist and possibly the best husband in the world (usually in that order). She can decipher the handwriting of a preschooler and stop brotherly brawls single-handedly, all while masterfully sipping freshly brewed Earl Grey.
