Combining natural materials such as linen, cotton, bamboo and organic options with a little vintage fabric and some designer textiles for good measure comes the Toronto-based clothing label Patouche. Started by mother of two and designer/scenic artist Kessa Laxton, the clothes have been inspired by long wildflower walks, Little Red Riding Hood and the classic tale of Treasure Island. The new Spring 2010 collection is set to be released very soon – check out the sneak peek above!

All collections are crafted to superb quality and Patouche remains committed to the environment with its use of locally available fabrics, wool that is milled in Quebec and its studio, warehouse and distribution all located in Toronto. No overseas cheaply made clothing here.

I absolutely adore the Boxpleat dresses on offer (pictured above), which are available in an array of stunning designs and a little hint of retro. The Sailor shorts and Pirate pants are whimsical yet totally wearable options. And who can say no to those cuter than cute Smock Tops for the little guys? But I think the Little Red Riding capes takes the cake – just sublime.
