Orla Kiely Bags – drop-dead gorgeous

These bags by the extraordinarily talented
Orla Kiely, are
seriously floating my boat. I’m not sure I can get through the
next few years without one of these amazing bags. It’s such an
occupational hazard for a writer-mum such as myself, when items like
this
crop up, but oh how I love it!

My bag obsession has just been accelerated with these offerings at
sale prices. Orla’s dramatic graphic style is featured on the blue
Laminated Lamp Holdall, which will do just that. Packed to capacity,
it’s an overnight bag. Packed more sparsely, take it with you on a day
outing with baby.

If you prefer the oval flower design, it’s available in red, even
though it’s shown in yellow above. Both are wipedownable – a real bonus
as my toddler seems to spill everything he eats onto my handbag under
the cafe table.

I urge you to see her website for her current designs. The site is
a work of art in itself with crisp photography and leafy (that’s
her signature ‘Stem’ print) graphics
showcasing a drop-dead gorgeous showcase of bags.

The prints seem to
spring from Scandinavian fabric design of the 1970s. Apples, pears,
leaves, right through to transport and plains. Don’t get me started on
the range of styles available.

It may be dangerous for me to mention Kiely also designs
stationery, clothing, accessories and homewares, so you didn’t hear it
from
me ok?

Grab the Laminated Lamp Holdall for US$160 and the
Laminated Flower Maxisling for $120 – both half price right
now. The savings are worth seeking a re-shipper.

  1. My husband gave me a gorgeous Orla Kiely bag for my birthday – it fits everything I need for my little man and best of all it’s easy to wipe down for any little accidents. There are shops in Hong Kong and Singapore – a little hint for those dads on business trips – in Hong Kong they’re open until 10pm (no excuses now for not picking up a little something for mum!).

  2. I tried to order two bags & offered to have TNT collect them as they would not arrange shipping & have had no response back. Very disappointing as I really wanted them!!

  3. Why not try a re-shipper from the USA, there are so many and they are not so expensive. Well worth the effort. They do look lovely and I am going to look into re-shipping now. Will let you know what I find out.

  4. Hey, fellow Orla Kiely fans, I got an e-mail last week from http://www.pedshoes.com]Ped Shoes announcing they’re offering 20% off Orla Kiely (even sale stuff) when the code oral@ped is used at checkout. I found many cute things there, like this bag with an amazing tree graphic: http://www.pedshoes.com/images/colors/1169/main.jpg
Gotta love when something I actually want goes on sale!
